Twisted Metal on Playstation 3: Features Wish List

Otter
It has been years since an original Twisted Metal game has appeared on a home console. Recently, however, there have been rumors of the car combat series heading to the Playstation 3. Handling the game is the much respected David Jaffe (who also directed previous games in addition to the acclaimed God of War) and his new development studio at Eat Sleep Play (who are responsible for Calling All Cars). Here is a wish list of what Twisted Metal for the Playstation 3 should contain.

Edgier
The Twisted Metal series always seem to be aimed at the E (for Everyone) or T (for Teen) ratings. The lone exception was Twisted Metal: Black on the Playstation 2. Lead by David Jaffe, the game sports an edgier, more mature look. At that time, the series was struggling to stay above water due to several disappointing sequels. The reinvention of Twisted Metal: Black put the Twisted Metal name right back on the map in the minds of consumers.

With mature-rated games selling better than ever, many gamers are wishing that Twisted Metal on the Playstation 3 should retain the same edgier nature that was in Twisted Metal: Black on the Playstation 2.

More Variety
Twisted Metal has always been about car combat where the main object is to destroy the opponent's vehicle. Although this can be deliriously fun, it can also be a rather shallow experience at times. As a result, one of the items on the wish list should be to add more variety to the Playstation 3 version of Twisted Metal. While the core element could remain the same, the next iteration should add more variety to the mission objectives in order to diversify the gameplay.

New Characters
Just like any good fighting series, Twisted Metal has it fair shares of memorable characters including series icons such as Mr. Grimm, Sweet Tooth and Warthog. These exuberant personalities are what make the universe so engrossing. It wouldn't feel right if the next game on the Playstation 3 didn't introduce any new characters added to the mix. Because of that, the wish list should contain a couple of new and exciting characters.

Online Multiplayer
Although Twisted Metal: Black on the Playstation 2 didn't originally come with online gameplay, it was later added in with an expansion disc. With online gameplay now being standard on the Playstation 3, the next Twisted Metal game should absolutely contain this crucial element. This should be the most prominent item on the wish list since the core gameplay of the Twisted Metal series lends itself quite well to multiplayer matches.

The new game should allow for customization of the vehicles so you can change the color and%2For appearance of the car. It would be cool to have a %27create your own character%27 option where you can design your car and special abilities.%0D%0A%0D%0A%40jay%0D%0A%0D%0AJaffe has dropped a few major hints that he%27s working on a new Twisted Metal game. I think it%27s a pretty safe assumption.

You're kind of misleading saying that it is in fact being developed by Jaffe. He never has said that is the game he is working on. It could be a different car combat game, or nothing to do w/ cars

I used to LOVE Twisted Metal when I was younger! Haven't played or thought about the games in forever. Maybe I'll have to pick this one up.
