Twitter Apps for IPhone

Brenda Hoffman
A lot of people are in search of Twitter apps for iPhone today. These Twitter apps enable you to use Twitter.com from anywhere that you have iPhone access. With this in mind, here are some of the Twitter apps that you may want to download

Echofon is a free Twitter app. It used to be the best app and it is still a good choice since it is simple to use. There is a navigation bar that runs across the bottom of the feed making for a clean interface. Unfortunately, it is lacking some options that other Twitter apps have (i.e. a way to shorten the URL). Nevertheless it is great for beginners.

Tweetdeck is another free Twitter app. It has a columnar layout that shows users you follow, @ mentions and your direct messages. This is great for those who have more than one Twitter account or who want to add customized searches to their Twitter list.

Twitterific is a clean app that has all of the normal tabs that you would expect (tweets, mentions, messages, favorites) but it also has a list of trending topics available under the search bar. The main drawback is that the Twitter stream lags, making it slow to update. It can also be annoying to toggle between streams. Nevertheless, this is another free Twitter app.

Seesmic is also a free Twitter app. This app is well designed, easy to navigate and supports several Twitter accounts. You can also hook into your MySpace, Facebook, LinkedIn, Flickr and Wordpress accounts.

HootSuite will cost you $2.99. The nice thing about this Twitter app is that you can schedule your tweets in advance. It is also very easy to toggle between streams and track how your shared links are performing. Facebook can also be integrated into this app. Unfortunately, the initial setup is quite time consuming, the app itself is also very cluttered and not very user-friendly.

TwitBird is a free Twitter app that is also very cute. It is aesthetically pleasing and the background of your main feed can even be customized. Unfortunately, this app is really slow though. Nevertheless, it does have a lot of great options, including Facebook integration and list support.

Brizzly, another free Twitter app, is a bear to set up since you have to confirm your account via email. However, once you make it through the setup process it is nice to have the photos and vides show up in your main feed. Otherwise, this isn't all that great of an app.
