One of the great things about owning an iPhone is having access to so many great apps. Applications on iPhones can provide vital services, handy tools, and hours of enjoyment. Apps such as The Weather Channel provide up to the minute weather information, Around Me can help you find your way if you're lost, and Cam Wow lets you take all sorts of pictures in a myriad of ways. The number of apps available from Apple's App Store seem to increase daily in both scope and ingenuity, yet one of my favorites is an oldie, but a goodie. The iPhone Twitter application is even better than the pc version of the giant social network.
There are several applications for iPhones that work with your Twitter account, but none is better than the original. Twitter for iPhone is easy to navigate, handy for tweeting stuff while you're on the go, and allows you to keep in touch with the world wherever you go. Just one touch on your iPhone screen and you're all set to begin.
Navigation on Twitter for iPhone is driven through a series of icons at the bottom of the screen, as well as your very own tweet button at the very top. When you log in to the iPhone Twitter app, the main screen is your Twitter feed, or "timeline." It is here where all of the tweets of those you follow appear, in real time. To read a specific tweet, just touch it on the screen and you'll see it up close.
Once you read a specific Tweet, more icons appear at the bottom, from which you can reply, quote, or just retweet it if you like. You can also add it to your favorite tweets or even email it to someone, perhaps for later reference.
Other icons on the bottom of the main screen include the "@" icon, which refers to tweets that have mentioned something you've tweeted, and the message icon, where you can read incoming messages from fellow users. A search icon allows you to search trending topics, other Twitterers, or just about anything else that can be found on the social networking giant.
The right-most icon on the main screen, which comes in the form of three dots, takes you to your personalized Twitter page. From here, you can take a look at and edit your profile information, including followers, those you follow, your tweets, retweets and more. If you've created any lists, or groupings of other Twitterers by subject, they'll appear here, too.
Twitter is a great social networking site, and can be used for a myriad of things. Having the easy-to-use Twitter app on your iPhone gives you the ability to make your Twitter activities as mobile as you are! So if you are a Twitter user and have an iPhone, check out the app store and download the Twitter app. It's totally free and totally fun!

Post a CommentTwitter does seem custom made for smart phones. Not many apps would be as simple and straight forward. Twitter on the big screen is a little disappointing. Good article.
My son's Zombie app is coming out soon...but I don't have a clue what it does. :-)
Good information, John!
