Twitter Status: Down Along with Facebook

Twitter status? It's down, and because Twitter is down, the entire world is now in crisis as a result. Twitter has been down for hours, with no word as to why the Twitter status is this way - particularly since there is no Twitter. With Twitter down, the Internet now must learn to go at least a few hours without seeing what Ashton, Demi, and billions of others are doing at a given time. Therefore, Twitter's down status has to be fixed immediately - especially since people can't even go on Facebook to panic about Twitter being down.

Twitter went down at an unknown time, but it appears to have started at around mid-morning. This means people have gone without updating their Twitter status for several hours now, as of 11:15 eastern time. And since Twitter is down, the site can barely give any status changes to calm people down. Word that Twitter has gone down due to hacking hasn't calmed down any fears, however.

There have been planned shutdowns on Twitter before, but it never went down for this unplanned amount of time. While Twitter works to improve its status, the world is being deprived of its daily updates and misspelled Twits.

One of the only refuges left for Twitter users is Facebook, but even that has had site problems today. Facebook users have had a hard time getting online today as well, and even Live Journal is under threat.

It seems that with Twitter status down and Facebook and Live Journal under siege, the almost forgotten MySpace is the safest place on the Internet today. Still, people can log on to Facebook, but may be knocked off the site after a while.

While Facebook users have the chance, they are posting their complaints about Twitter going down. Though Facebook works intermittently, Twitter has had no such luck and has stayed completely down for hours.

Many apocalyptic stories and scenarios have imagined how the world would plunge into anarchy if they went without power, government, rules, and other important constants. For the 21'st century, it might be a good question to ask how the world would collapse without Twitter or Facebook or other online social networks, for an extended period of time.

Twitter status may not be down for so long that the world would collapse. But given the panic on the Internet today, it may seem that way if Twitter stays down for several more hours.

    everyone, go outside, it's Okay! ... There's a basketball hoop waiting for you throw a ball at it, I just saw it over there.. no, not there, there. There's also real people outside not twitting their twouts..

    You can look at status.twitter.com for what's happening. Needless panicking unnecessary.

    Go outside, take a walk. You don't even need to update people that you're doing it. Trust me, your friends and followers will be just fine without you for 10, 15 minutes.

    Twitter is currently allowing some updates to go through, although I STILL can't Twitter this article...sorry.

    Twitter still seems to be down, though for some reason the "Is Twitter down?" single-serving site is saying that it's NOT down.

    Oddly, I've been able to update a few times since the "outage" and then Twitter seems to go down again, unpredictably. Hopefully, it will be up soon.
