Twitter Tools Plugin and Article Writing Links

Nina Rotz
Twitter Tools is becoming one of the most popular Wordpress Plugins, for both personal bloggers and those who use blog to further their freelance writing career. With Twitter Tools, the blog administrator is able to auto-post new blog entries or inform their Twitter followers of newly published articles. This however is just the start, as there is more to Twitter Tools plugin that can make a freelance writer's life easier.

Speaking from personal experience, Twitter Tools WP Plugin helps me manage all the websites that I write for. Other fellow writers work for multiple websites, and need a way to promote all of their articles with ease. This is where Twitter Tools is the best, and it will help automatically promote newly written content.

Article Promotion; Use Twitter Tools To Auto-Post Links
Websites such as Associated Content allow you to setup an auto-post Twitter widget, that posts a link to your Twitter page once a new article is published. All of your followers, as well as rest of the Tweeting community will be able to click on the link and read your work.

Article Promotion: Cross Posting With Blog Entries
Wordpress blogs are a must for freelance writers, and can be used to further promote all of your published libraries of content. A way to promote using blog posts is to write up entries that contain your article links, or other interesting information that will cause visitors to click on links and read the published content.
Twitter Tools will again immediately post a link to your Twitter page, with an indication that a new blog post has been posted and a link the Twitter community can click on.

Article Promotion: Title and Short URLs
The title of your published articles and blog posts will be posted on Twitter, as well as a shortened link. Twitter automatically shortens long URLs, and there is no need to use tinyurl.com to manually create article links. If you use Google alerts, you will receive a notice of the title being posted to Twitter.

Adding Twitter Feeds to Your Wordpress Blog
Twitter Tools comes with a widget for WP sidebars. Under available widgets, select Twitter Tools and enter a title of your choice. This widget will display your latest tweets, and is especially important for newly posted article URLs. The published article URLs will be displayed on your Wordpress sidebar, and will be available to click on right from the blog. This gives you maximum exposure, and greater chance of having articles read by blog visitors.

Tweeting From Your Wordpress Blog
With Twitter Tools Plugin, the writer does not need to post from the twitter.com page. A link will be placed on the Dashboard called Tweet. Using this box will create tweets on your Twitter page, and can be used to regular tweeting or to post links to other published articles.

Besides sending tweets right from the dashboard, you can tweet from your blog's sidebar. This option is available in Twitter Tools setup, and adds a text box under your Twitter feed. No one but you is able to view this text box or input tweets.

Additional Twitter Tools Setup Options
Twitter Tools Plugin also allows you to choose how many tweets should be displayed on the sidebar widget. This can be a choice based on your Wordpress theme design.

You also have the option of creating blog posts from tweets. What this means is that every time you tweet, Twitter Tools will turn it into a micro-blog post that will be displayed on your Wordpress blog. Again, it is completely optional but can be used for short updates or when you are unable to dedicate time to longer blog posts. Tweet blog posts can be taken further when it comes to WP theme design. You can have Twitter feeds placed into a designated category and displayed into a specified section of the theme.

Twitter Tools Plugin and Google Indexing
Posting the title and URL to your published article can help with faster Google indexing and placement. Twitter is another online portal with high Google page ranking, as well as a social media network that is crawled for new content on frequent bases. This helps to index the published article into Google, and make the link available to web users who may be searching for the article keywords.
