Twitter Tweeps Rants

Faith Draper
Please do not get me wrong. I love Twitter and all the wonderful benefits it offers its members. My rant is NOT against Twitter at all.

My Twitter rant is concerning some of the members of Twitter and how they annoy myself and in my opinion abuse the Twitter system. If you are not familiar with Twitter a 'Tweep' is a member of Twitter who Tweets (posts messages on the system). Twitter is fun and does have a language of its own.

Twitter Tweep Rant #1
"Bio Christian, Mother, Grandmother, Gardener, Photographer and Freelance Writer, love nature. Published on Associated Content!"

This is my biography on Twitter. It states very clearly what my religious beliefs are it is listed the very first thing. Why do people bother following me (agree to receive my posts) only to hurl insults or profanities at me when I post something Christian related. I am a firm believer we all have a right to our own beliefs but if you are offended by my Christian faith -
DO NOT FOLLOW ME!

Twitter Tweep Rant #2
Very annoying to me are the Twitter Tweeps who follow you expecting you to follow them back but have locked their Twitter posts. What this means is before I follow some one I like to know what they tweet (post) if your account is private there is no way I am going to be able to see what kind of topics you have or will be posting on Twitter. I understand some people like their privacy but Twitter is a social network please post information on your bio that will give me a clue or respond to a few of my posts to let me know where your head is at least a bit other wise -
DO NOT EXPECT ME TO FOLLOW BACK!

Twitter Tweep Rant #3
#FollowFriday - Follow Friday is a great way to introduce your followers to one another. What I hate is people who RT (retweet) other people's Follow Fridays and do not even follow those people themselves. Most people I have seen do this are merely trying to 'trick' others into following them. It does not work with me, it is a good indication you are too lazy to create your own Follow Friday list, it annoys me and I will more than likely -
NOT FOLLOW YOU

Twitter Tweep Rant #4
This Tweep rant is for those we not so lovingly refer to as 'the porn queens'. Yes, they are even on Twitter, those ladies doing all they can to get people to look at their scanty or not at all clothed bodies. Ok folks first of all I am 100% straight so have no interest at all in seeing these photos. For these people I first post a few bible scriptures just for you and -
I WILL THEN BLOCK YOU (if your profile picture is obscene I will report it to Twitter)

Twitter Tweep Rant #5
Again, Twitter is a social network, socializing takes at least two people. Tweeps who post day after day (often several times a day) and do not communicate with other tweeps defeats the whole purpose of Twitter, fills my screen with a bunch of posts but makes me wonder if you ever look at the screen yourself, particularly if you are using one of the systems that automatically post for you. Feel free to follow me all you want but I -
WILL NOT BE FOLLOWING YOU

Ok, that is my Twitter Tweep rant and I do feel better. I hope each one of these types of Twitter users read this and learn at least a little bit about the down fall of their Twitter habits. Please feel free to share this with all of your Twitter followers and if you do not fall into any of the above groups look me up on Twitter I may enjoy following you @byfaithonly

Feel free to share any rants you might have in the comments section below just keep them clean, constructive, or light hearted - I do have the power to delete comments if I feel they are offensive to other readers!

Great rant! What about the writers who never RT anyone's articles even though people RT theirs all the time? I realize that the number of tweets coming in can be overwhelming, and it's impossible for a lot of us to ever catch up. I'm not saying it has to be equal all the time; I think it fluctuates with most people depending on how much time they have, and that's fine. However, it's just common courtesy to RT other people's articles at least once in a while.

The constant sale pitches are enough for me.

Great job on these rants! (I have done a slight bit of RTing others #FFs only if they contain many fellow AC users) ;) I'll behave on that, this week I went through and posted from A-Z but going to limit on a regular basis a break down to specifics and newer follows. Glad to read this and I hope the nasty vulgar ones read it too and get the message on the rudeness. GREAT ARTICLE DEAR FRIEND!

Good Grief, people actually go through the trouble of following you and then hurl insults at you for tweeting bible verses. What a bunch a jerks! Their parents must be first cousins or something. Good for you for writing this article and I hope you tweeted this article all over twitter. Maybe people will get the idea. Thumbs up.

My sentiments exactly, Faith. And it really bugs me that people are RT'ing others follow friday lists. Very annoying! Hugs, my friend :)

Surrounded by tornados and have already made 2 trips to the basement for warnings. Just trying to show page love to all my fans before the power goes out :)
