Twix PB One of the Bar's Best Flavors

I usually try to avoid buying candy when I'm in the check out line. We have enough junk food at home and I don't like spending money when I don't have to. But, when I saw Twix had a different flavor I had never heard of, I figured I would give it a try.

When I first saw the Twix PB brand, I thought it was just another re-done version of the peanut butter Twix I used to buy all the time before most of our local stores stopped carrying it. It wasn't until I got it home that I discovered it offered a combination of peanut butter and a chocolate cookie.

Along with the peanut butter Twix, one of my other favorite varieties of the popular brand was their Cookies & Cream flavor; another flavor you can't find at any of the stores here. So, when I saw the Twix PB combined the two flavors, I was really intrigued.

And, after trying it, I wasn't disappointed.

The first thing I noticed was the Twix PB used a lot of peanut butter; much more than the peanut butter Twix used to use. When I first bit into the bar, I couldn't even taste the chocolate part of it and didn't notice the cookie part until a couple of bites in.

Once I started tasting the chocolate cookie, I thought it was fantastic. You can't go wrong with chocolate and peanut butter and Twix took advantage of that fact when they created this variety. In fact, I was making such a big deal out of eating the candy bar, my wife couldn't help but get the other one for herself; especially when I showed her the cookie inside. I think the two candy bars (each containing two Twix bars) were gone in a matter of a couple of minutes and neither of us minded the fact they were half melted.

If I have any complaints about the Twix PB it is probably the fact they do use a little too much peanut butter. Not only would a better balance between the peanut butter and chocolate create a better taste, having too much peanut butter in the candy bar left me very thirsty and I had to find something to drink right after.

Overall though, I think the Twix PB is one of their better flavors and I'm glad our store finally carried something different than their traditional bar. I will definitely be buying them the next time I see them in the check out aisle.
