We spent a week in Park City, Utah and ate at a variety of restaurants. These are two of my favorites for special occasions.

The Foundry Grill is one of many eating establishments at the Sundance Resort at 8841 N. Alpine Loop Road in Sundance, Utah. The Foundry Grill opened in July of 1996. The name is taken from the concept of the large foundry wall which you can see in the main room. "Sundance believes in the preservation of our resources; all our water glasses are created from recycled glass and are hand blown here at Sundance Resort."

You may have heard of the Sundance Film Festival. This happening takes place in Park City because it has gotten so large. In 1969, Robert Redford bought Sundance and it is now home to a variety of venues and artistic performances as well as the well known Sundance clothing and home goods.

Everything about The Foundry Grill is casual but classy. We were surrounded by an incredible view, gleaming wood, and smiling faces. The service was impeccable. We were in a rush and the server made sure that we got our food as quickly as possible. We started with fresh bread and butter and got more. I wanted to take it home! I know that $13.50 sounds like a lot for a grilled cheese sandwich but not the one I got. I'm posting a picture which might help describe it but it was on grilled sourdough bread and was just so tasty the money didn't even faze me. The fries were well done just as I asked. My daughter got a salad with chicken but this wasn't any ordinary salad. The chicken was heaped in a round pile on the plate - a really beautiful presentation.

The Foundry Grill has a children's menu. 5 stars

My husband and I went to Riverhorse on Main for our 25th wedding anniversary. It is located at 540 Main Street in Park City and opened in 1983. You cannot go here looking at the prices unless you usually spend a lot when eating out. This was without a doubt the best meal I have ever had and the restaurant is beautiful. In spite of the prices the restaurant is comfortable and has an invited rather than a stuffy feeling. Men - no need to wear jackets!

We sat at a window which had the outside café attached. Unlike gourmet restaurants to which I have been Riverhorse's portions were large and every bite was delicious. We started with the selection of the day by the chef which is given out as a complimentary dish. My appetizer was a delicious eggplant dish for $10.00 and my husband got elk

The service was impeccable. Our bottled water was put on ice. I had the most delicious Macadamia Nut Encrusted Alaskan Halibut I have ever tasted. The side dishes (potato and broccoli) were delicious. The price was $35.00. My husband got Pistachio Dusted Utah red Trout for $33.00.

Although we usually don't get dessert we couldn't resist and each came with a candle for our anniversary. Riverhorse Café offers a children's menu.

You have to make reservations! 5++ stars http://riverhorsegroup.com/
