Two Bears Walking in the Woods Saw Two Mean Boys

How the Nice (but Slow) Turtle was Saved

LorriAnne
Once upon a time, there were two bears, and their names were Bear and Ditto. They liked to take walks in the woods. One day, they were walking in the woods, and heard some boys yelling 'I hit it!' and 'I hit it, too!'

The two bears walked up to see what was going on, and what the two boys were hitting. They saw that the two boys were in a clearing and were hitting a turtle! With rocks! Their friend, Turtle, was being hit by rocks!

'These are mean boys, Ditto,' Bear whispered, 'we have to do something.'

So Bear and Ditto snuck up behind the two mean boys and tied their shoe laces together. Then, they ran back around, behind a bunch of bushes, to the other side of the clearing, and then they came out, yeling at the mean boys, 'can't catch us, ha ha ha!'

Bear and Ditto ran away, but very slowly. the mean boys started to chase them, but fell down. their shoe laces were tied together and they couldn't run at all.

When the two mean boys fell down, Bear and Ditto ran back as fast as they could, grabbed their friend Turtle, picked him up, and carried him away.

They could hear the mean boys yelling at them, but they kept running. They hid behind some big rocks, and just in time, too, because the mean boys had gotten their shoe laces untied, and had come after the two bears and Turtle. Bear, Ditto, and Turtle hid, and were very quiet, and the mean boys couldn't find them. After a little bit, the two mean boys decided that the bears and the turtle had gotten away. Then the two mean boys left and went home. Bear, Ditto, and Turtle went home, too.
