Two Bodies Found in Tallulah, Louisiana; Being Investigated as Homicide
Each Victim Found in Tallulah Appears to Have Been Discarded, like so Much Rubbish
Updated June 20, 2011 DeRidder, Louisiana- While the South has its friendly charms and ways, sometimes still, crime is inevitable. The mid-size city of Tallulah, Louisiana is certainly no exception. The bodies of two as-yet-unidentified women were found, within as many days. Law enforcement is treating each death as a homicide, while not sharing too many details.
According to thenewsstar.com, the bodies of two females were found in the city limits of Tallulah, and residents there are scared of possible danger, as well. Police will not confirm whether the two deaths are linked, or many other details about these tragic, senseless killings. All we've seen confirmed besides the discovery themselves, are both victims are black, but no word on other identification.
Update! See the update on this vicious double-murder! Cops become more forthcoming. Police have confirmed the identities of the two murder victims to be that of 18-year-old Nikesha Washington, and 19-year-old Jasmine Smith. The former being left in the football field, while the latter was disposed of callously in the Tallulah City Park. May they both rest in peace.
Besides the relentless Louisiana heat, the shocking brutality is the discovery of at least one of the bodies, near Wright Elementary School - in the school's football field no less - and another within Tallulah City Park. Might a killer "comfortable" near such establishments be a risk for our young ones? Or, might the killer be placing the bodies there? All of Louisiana, and the world, await updates to the investigation details, as police progress in the case. In either case, residents in the neighborhood are scared, apprehensive, and rightfully so.
Police began the investigation by arriving on scene of the first murder victim at 8:30 p.m., Friday, June 17th, 2011. The cause of death determination appeared being "her throat was cut," says neighbor Juan Hall, who himself arrived at 11:30 p.m. according to our sources. Are the local police discussing details with the neighborhood? Might it be suggested such behavior not occur with a murder investigation? One of the surest ways to confirm the perp's id, is to catch them up, on an un-discussed detail.
The second unfortunate female murder victim was found the next Saturday morning, just inside a fence of Tallulah City Park, and "in a canal ditch," also according to the same Juan Hall, who made it a point to arrive at the second crime scene. He states having watched authorities removing her from her location. According to the account given, it seems the killer, whomever they are, merely discarded the body of their second victim, amongst rubbish. Let's hope they were as thoughtless with evidence, also.
Local police, the County Sheriff, and Louisiana State Police are asking anyone with any information on the two grisly murders, to please call (318) 574-1831. No detail needs to go un-reported. Any information at all, might be the piece which builds a time-line, later. The cops need the people's help here, folks. Let's all help bring these two ladies justice, in any way.
Here's to Tallulah police, and law enforcement in general, making a break in the case. Somewhere, the families of two women are at a standstill in their lives. Hearts are broken all over the south for those families, in fact. We all lost someone, in Tallulah. As a further update: Police have expressed having an as-yet-un-named "person or persons of interest.," although at this time, no arrests have been made. Justice will be served.
