Two Books Detail the History of Fort Greene and Clinton Hill
Neighborhood: Clinton Hill
Brooklyn, NY 11205
United States of America
There are two new books on Clinton Hill's history that residents may be interested in. The first was recently published, whereas the author of the second is asking the community for help compiling photographs for his upcoming book.

Francis Morrone's "The Fort Greene and Clinton Hill Neighborhood and Architectural History Guide" includes information on the development, history and notable residents of Fort Greene and Clinton Hill. It offers a detailed look at some of the notable authors, jazz musicians and artists who lived on these streets.
It also features archival photos of the neighborhood from the Brooklyn Historical Society's archives. The book is part of a large series of Brooklyn neighborhood guides published by the society.

Brian Merlis is a historian and has an archive of old Brooklyn pictures online. He is asking the community to contribute information and photos from Clinton Hill before 1975. He asks that you call him at (516) 808-1214 by Nov. 30 to submit your photos or facts for inclusion in his forthcoming book.
