Two Crazy Poems on Dieting

Most of my life I've been on a diet as I love all kinds of food. Fortunately, I have found the diabetic diet to be the one that works for me, so I am not fighting this problem any longer but I still have friends that fight this lonely battle, which you really have to do alone. I wrote these poems sometime ago to make my friends who have the problem smile. I share their anguish to this day and if you have never been a fat person, struggling to lose weight, you need to be more empathetic to those who do. With tongue in cheek I give you two humorous poems on the subject.

ON BEING FAT AND DIETING

The last few days a shock have been
For I saw two long time friends
Who in days that lately past
Must have eaten a great repast.
One was always so petite and small
And too she was not very tall
But now I find in shocked dismay
To enter a door she goes sideways.
The other was always fairly large
At times she's more like a barge
I could not hardly comprehend
What had happened to my friends?
Being big has always been
My size for I was never thin
But for these two gals I know
It really does begin to show
So I in humble truth confess
I guess we three are just a mess
So dieting we all must do
And take the fat from off our shoe
Being fat is not a crime
Especially when you like to dine
But fats not 'in' like days gone by
So to my fat - I'll say goodbye.

HURRAH

I'm proud of me, I will expound
I've worked and dieted to the ground
And guess what I have suddenly found
Hurrah! I've finally lost 18 pounds
