Two Dentists Offer to Buy Halloween Candy from Children

Susanne Jones
Dr. Eli Jackson and his associate Dr. Brad Graham, both dentists in Bowling Green, KY, have decided to offer $1 per pound of Halloween candy. All a child has to do is to bring in the candy the day after Halloween, have it weight, and exchange it for the cash. The child does not have to be a patient to take advantage of this offer.

The dentists came up with this trade-in offer in order to save the children's teeth. They point out that candy can badly damage children's teeth. Jawbreakers, or anything like sugar-baby or sugar-daddy, are especially damaging because they can pull out fillings. The dentists have seen this sort of damage to a child's teeth many times in their practice.

The candy will not be destroyed. Instead, the dentists decided to donate it to U.S. troops overseas.

To participate in this offer, children can bring the candy on November 1, 2007, to the dentists' place of business at Chandler Park Dental Care, 1857 Tucker Way, Bowling Green, KY. The children have to be accompanied by an adult. The candy will be accepted between 2pm and 6pm. The candy will be weighed and exchanged for $1 per pound. Furthermore, each child participating in the exchange will also get a saber toothbrush (while supplies last). For further questions please contact the dentist office at 270-781-2952.
