Our friend James who usually writes these car reviews recently had two pickup trucks at one time. They are called the 2010 Toyota Tundra and the 2010 Dodge Ram. They both had big 5.7 liter V8 engines, 4-wheel drive, four doors and we only know that because we read his reviews. His blogs are really popular in the canine community.
If you were wondering, of course dogs can read. Just like we understand what you mean when you say sit but still refuse to obey. Unless you have a tasty treat, of course. We are still confused, though, as to where these new cars come from each week. It must be the same place where they keep all the pull toys and kibble. All of the good stuff in the world must be kept in the same place.
So while James was away from his desk we decided that we would write our own review of the Tundra and the Ram. I mean, it can't be all that hard if a human can do it. And what does a person know about pickup trucks anyway?
If you really want a vehicle your dog will love your safest bet is a big pickup truck. It speaks to our inner wolf. Please don't embarrass us and make us ride around in a minivan. Those are best left to the small humans who like to pull our ears. That is so annoying.
Peyton: So which pickup truck did you like better Daisy Mae? Not that I care, though. I am the alpha dog so it is only my opinion that matters.
Daisy Mae: Fine, you were here first but despite what the "Dog Whisperer" on TV says I have no respect for you. Talk to the paw!
Peyton: Someone woke up on the wrong side of the dog bed this morning. Did you lose your favorite rawhide bone? Oh wait, I ate that. Oops!
Daisy Mae: Stop teasing me and get to the point! We are here to talk about the trucks. I liked the Ram because it felt like it had a lower ride height. I am 8 years old, or so they tell me. I was a stray so even I don't remember. But my achy bones had an easier time getting into that truck.
Peyton: Are you crazy? The Toyota Tundra was so much easier to get into. It had more rear legroom so I could hop up onto the wide floor and then lift myself up onto the seat. I am too fat to do the same thing in the Ram.
Daisy Mae: And whose fault is that? Maybe you could cut back on all those snausages. Fatty. Fatty, fatty from Bakersfield.
Peyton: At least they knew where I was from! No one knows where you came from! Anyway, couldn't you tell how much more fun your owner was having when he was driving the Tundra? You belong to him so you should be more in tune to that stuff. I belong to his mom. She liked the Ram because it had a bigger grab handle by the passenger seat. That made it easier for her to get in and out of the truck. It matters when a human is somewhere near your age in dog years.
Daisy Mae: That is true. And the window behind the rear seats also rolled down all of the way. It was cool to look out of it at the drivers behind us. But both trucks windows in the rear doors that rolled down all the way so that was good. But the Tundra felt like it could handle all of the abuse YOU dish out. You are such a big fat slobbering mess!
Peyton: I have a glandular problem that makes me drool! I can't control it! That's what my mommy tells me.
Daisy Mae: Mouth breather.
Peyton: Low blow! I have a deviated septum. That's what mommy says anyway.
Daisy Mae: Well I just noticed how easy it was for my owner to clean all of your slobber off of the interior of the Tundra. Plus, it had leather upholstery which is always easier to clean when you have a dog. And he had a much easier time installing our doggie rear seat cover in the Tundra. And the seats also recline so it was easy for me to get comfortable.
Peyton: So it's decided. The 2010 Toyota Tundra is the winner. I got to announce it because I am the alpha dog.
Daisy Mae: You may be the alpha dog but you are still an idiot.
