Two Downtown Brooklyn Subway Stations Undergoing Name Change
Neighborhood: Downtown Brooklyn
Brooklyn, NY 11201
United States of America
Downtown Brooklyn's Jay Street and Lawrence Street stations are not only going through extensive renovations in the next few months. According to Metropolitan Transportation Authority officials, both subway stops will be renamed to Jay Street-MetroTech.

Both stations are being rehabilitated and will have a connector built between them. The Lawrence Street stop will connect with the A, C, R and F trains to Jay Street.

The Jay Street/Borough Hall renaming is due largely in part to its location. The Jay Street station is in closer proximity to MetroTech than to Borough Hall. The name change will go into effect after construction is finished.
