Two-faced Politics in the World Today
Saudi King Abdullah Cites the Arab League Leaders into a Summit Gathering in the Saudi Capital in Search for Peace
two-faced and leaders are making decisions that lack the element of common sense. "Saudi King criticizes Arab Divisiveness.Saudi King chastises Arab leaders at summit over disunity, loss of hope in region". Ironically, this king who is now calling for unity and harmony between Arab leaderships, was financially involved in the unrest in Lebanon, his money was fueling the semi civil war taking place in that vulnerable nation.
"The gathering is to revive a 2002 initiative offering Israel peace with the Arab world if it withdraws from lands it seized in the 1967 Mideast war, a proposal the United States and Europe hope can bolster efforts to resume the stalled peace process." ABC reporter added. Arab leaders showed a peculiar lack of agenda, simply because it's clear that Israel kept stalling the peace negotiations, making all kinds of reasons behind its behavior at a time when the Palestinians were the victims in the unrest. Hamas was implanted in the occupied territories some two decades ago with major help from Israel;and that wasn't a hidden secret. When the Palestinians casted their votes,it was the only form of democracy they ever knew, allowing Hamas to take the leadership, they took the blame for the discontinuing of the peace process, Israel was first to start the blame, and that off course gave Israel what seemed to be a legitimate reason to jeopardize the peace negotiations.
"Arab leaders have refused calls for changes in the plan to win Israeli acceptance, but U.S. allies Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan want the summit participants to give them flexibility in promoting the offer to Israel and the West ", the report added. How and when Jordan became a US ally? And since when did Egypt become one too? One may think that Saudi Arabia is a US ally due to its token involvement in the liberation of Kuwait. The kingdom is still a home for the US troops which could, very well, look like an occupation, taking into consideration that the Saudi Royal Family will have no say as to when the US forces may be withdrawn from the kingdom's territories. Many in the US argue that the US forces are in the Saudi land to protect the Saudi Royal Family from a projected coup, it's clearly noted that an instability in the kingdom may put the American military existence in some kind of jeopardy which would disrupt the ongoing ethnic division in the region which observers see as a step towards inflaming the region in further blood shed and civil war.
" He pointed to the bloodshed in Iraq, where he called the U.S. military presence an "illegitimate occupation" and warned that "abhorrent sectarianism threatens a civil war" ,the report added. Who is King Abdullah fooling with those remarks about the bloodshed in Iraq? Were the leaders of the Arab League consulted before the kingdom decided to join the allied forces in the liberation of Kuwait? Did he forget that his armed forces were, once ,part of the occupying forces of Iraq? It's scary, this king is suffering from loss of memory.
"The kingdom brokered the formation of a Palestinian unity government between the moderate Fatah party and the militant Hamas group, hoping it would be able to enter peace talks with Israel and prompt the West to end the financial embargo on the previous Hamas-led administration", ABC report maintained. It's absurd to even think that the Saudis like to see the Palestinians and the Israelis reach a true peace.Saudi Arabia and its neighboring gulf states would suffer from a major manpower loss if all Palestinians were to be allowed back in Palestine. Currently, they are a major part of the work force in the region and they will
not think twice about returning to their home-land for stability, prosperity, and a boosting economy in that tiny part of the world which would most likely end up being the new Hong Kong in the Middle East, leaving those countries with virtually nothing to bargain for, on the International arena.
