Two Faces of Spring: A Call-and-Response Cinquain Set
Two Cinquain Verses Show the Dual Nature of Spring
The first day of Spring brought
Another snow shower
"More misery", I said,
"More cold, more wet,
More endless piles of white."
Another snow shower
"More misery", I said,
"More cold, more wet,
More endless piles of white."
But the drifts couldn't hide
A flash of purple
The delicate curve of
A crocus flower
"Spring is here, all right."

I wish I wrote that! I love crocuses and they do speak to me of courage, faith and never giving up... I loved them in New England forests and semi-wild areas. Because... few people got to see them and I was a kind of poioner; they, the natives. Loved this poem.
Remember the band "Crocus"? They kinda rocked. Just like this poem. Well, poems don't rock, per se, but I am having a hard time expressing myself right now.
Yeah crocus! :) Sheri
Good job AND you used 'purple' at the end of a poetic verse w/o painting yourself into a corner. SWEET!
Wonderful & so true too! The weather here has been so weird! In fact, I'm freezing today.
Very nice! I don't know if I'm going to attempt a cinquain or not...I can't decide.
Wow...fabulous! Love the photo, too!
Ooh, nice one, Bat. I like the little rhyming scheme you played with. Your sweet purple peek at spring was a nice light touch. Perfect photo image you chose, too. : )
