Two Good Products to Help with Bad Breath Without Irritation

Laura Hickey
There's a lot of products out on the market today to help combat bad breath but wouldn't it be nice to be able to see proof of a cleaner mouth from brushing and flossing? How about a product that leaves you with fresher breath and protection against cavities. That's the idea behind Listerine's Smart Rinse Anti-Cavity Mouth Wash. The product comes in two different flavors of Berry and Mint Shield in a 16.9 fl oz plastic bottle. There's no worrying about kids or adults measuring too little or too much since the product has a pre-measured line for the right amount of mouthwash. Simply squeeze the bottle from the bottom until the mouth wash has reached the 10 ml line. There's no need to worry about excess liquid because it drains itself back into the bottle. Simply pour into the cap and use. It's always a good idea to supervise young children when using oral hygiene products.

Originally this item came into the market targeted at children, you may have seen the commercial where the children are looking into the sink to see what the mouthwash caught. But is good for adults as well. The mouthwash protects against not only bad breath but against cavities. One good thing about this mouthwash is that doesn't burn your mouth and has a mild mint taste. It contains no alcohol. What's cool is how it tints food particles and bacteria to show how clean your mouth is and what was left after brushing and flossing.

For some toothpaste can irritate their mouth enough to cause canker outbreaks. Immediately after using the Colgate Sparkling White Mint Zing, my mouth felt irritated and sure enough a few days later there was two cankers starting. I stopped using this product and the cankers began to heal. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is a main ingredient in toothpaste that for some can cause canker sores as well. A good product is Colgate Total Whitening Toothpaste. The product comes in a 6.0 oz tube. This toothpaste helps prevent cavities, gingivitis, plaque, tarter from building up and whitens teeth. It has a light mint taste and overtime whitens teeth by removing surface stains. After a few days of using this product, there was no irritation. This toothpaste does contain Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. Many suggest using a toothpaste if you have extreme canker outbreaks that does not contain this ingredient.

Overall these two products were good in helping with bad breath, cavities and didn't cause irritation. The cost of the Listerine Smart Rinse was around $4.25. The price of the Colgate Toothpaste was around $2.50.
