Two Great Paranormal Magazines with Tons of Free Articles and Information Online

The internet is filled to the brim with websites about ghosts, UFOs, conspiracy theories, aliens, earth mysteries, angels, psychic phenomena, and all manner of weird mysteries. Some sites are better than others, and it can be difficult to navigate and weed out the credible from the incredible, the fact from fiction.

Luckily, there are several long-established paranormal-themed magazines with tons of free online content. I've been reading all types of paranormal-themed magazines, both print and online, for many years. I am recommending a couple fabulous, but very different ones here that are available as newsprint magazines, and all are readily available at most large magazine sections at such venues like Barnes and Noble, as well as by subscription.

Because the single-issue cover prices and subscriptions for the magazines aren't exactly cheap, the online articles are a fabulous way to both partake of the magazine, as well as determining if the contents are a good investment for your specific paranormal tastes.

Fate Magazine

Fate magazine has been continuously published since 1948. It's my favorite magazine; there's something so simple and quaint about the magazine itself. It's about the size of an Archie Digest comic book, and there's just something old fashioned and pure about it. The covers are sometimes fantastical, and always appealing.

The articles are diverse, and cover everything from ghosts, UFOs, healing, psychic phenomena, cryptozoology, life after death, and all kinds of mysteries. Regular sections and reader columns include: My Proof of Survival, and True Mystic Experiences. It's generally not a magazine for skeptics, and tends to rely on its readers' old school rooted familiarity with the subject matter and desire to believe. It can be somewhat pulpy, but that's what I love about it. I mean, it's Fate Magazine!

The Fate Magazine website has a lot of great information. There are many articles available online, but unfortunately, (and understandably) they are not available in their entirety. There's enough though, to make for some very interesting reading, and certainly to get an idea of the paper magazine's contents. At the Fate Magazine website, in addition the the articles, there's a blog section, and Fate Favorites links, categorized by topic.

There's even a virtual archive of all (or most) of the fantastic and lovely Fate covers going clear back to 1948, many of which are clickable, with contents listed. The website also offers a free newsprint magazine via the mail. Fate Magazine is a monthly publication; a 6 month subscription is $19.99, a year is $32.95, and a two year subscription is $57.95. Fate Magazine is highly recommended.

Nexus Magazine

Nexus Magazine is another newsprint magazine, and it couldn't be more different from Fate. While perhaps not technically a 'paranormal' magazine, it rather refers to itself as an alternative news magazine. But if you consider Utne Reader and NPR news as alternative, I would say Nexus Magazine is alternative with a capital A. It's published internationally, and been around since 1986.

Subjects include government cover-ups, secret or unknown histories, alternative health, UFOs, and other subjects. It's got somewhat of a "conspiracy-theory" undertone, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. The magazine doesn't seem to take a stance in its chosen publishings, and is geared toward freethinkers. The articles are 'serious' but readable and not quite academic--not pulpy at all.

Some of the titles of articles available online are: Forged Origins of the New Testament, Melting the Mystery of the Great Ice Age, Breaking the Slience: Bilderberg Exposed,Deadly Diabetes Deception, Anti-Gravity: Holy Grail of the 21^st Century, and The Poltergeist Machine.

There are literally dozens more. Nexus Magazine website is chock-full of long, complete articles. According to the website, two articles are chosen from each issue of the newsprint magazine, and reprinted in their entirety online. There is also a posting with some great news: They "are in the process of making all back issues available as text-searchable pdf files on a CD/DVD, and online." Also available for free at the website, is Nexus Radio. The Nexus online articles and website, as well as the bi-monthly (published every two months) newsprint magazine are highly recommended. Subscriptions run $24.95 a year.
