Two and a Half Men Cancelled Issue Leaves Crew, Cast in Limbo

Robert Dougherty
The Two and a Half Men cancelled controversy is far from over. Still, the Two and a Half Men cancelled decision seems like a no brainer, if one subtracts several factors. Charlie Sheen certainly cannot work with Chuck Lorre anymore, and CBS can't give Sheen a million dollar raise per episode, after all he's done. However, if Sheen can't return, they have to plan out whether the show can go on without him, and whether it even should. Meanwhile, the rest of the cast and crew are waiting for the Two and a Half Men cancelled issue to be decided.

One of the main arguments against taking the show off was the other cast and crew. But the regular crew has been in a greater limbo, as they depend more on their paychecks. However, just when they thought they could finally return to work, Sheen caused CBS to shut down the show again.

But even if CBS has Two and a Half Men cancelled, the crew will be taken care of in the short term after all. Although it took them a while, the network declared yesterday that crew members would be paid in full, at least for the four suspended episodes. Yet there is no paycheck for the first four episodes that were suspended before last week.

Sheen had offered to pay them one-third of their salaries for the four shows, yet CBS topped it by paying them in full. Deadline Hollywood credits Chuck Lorre for being "instrumental" in this deal, although Sheen claimed on Today that Lorre didn't think it was his problem.

Now that the crew is set in the short term, the Two and a Half Men cancelled issue will help decide their long term future. But with pilot season approaching, many of them might decide to leave now, and go find work on other shows. They've already been in limbo enough already, so a few more weeks or months of it may be too much, although many are bound to stay loyal.

The cast is another matter, as they are even more valuable to CBS now. Although they haven't been paid yet for the suspended episodes, they need them on stand-by, in case they go ahead without Sheen for Season 9. In particular, Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones can't budge, since they'd become the leading men if Sheen doesn't come back.

If they don't have Two and a Half Men cancelled, however, CBS could decide to hire another headliner. They've been rumored to be courting John Stamos, although how he could take Sheen's place is anyone's guess.

Nevertheless, CBS is desperate to not declare Two and a Half Men cancelled, whether Sheen returns or not. But as they scramble for back up plans, the other workers and actors are still waiting around in the meantime.

I have watched show since day one. Sheen is god but it will survive without him, the writers need to be creative and replace him. FUNNY, keep us laughing. I always thought Burta, Jake, and Alan made the show anyhow.

    Lets get Emilio!!!

  • Whatever........3/7/2011

The show does not need Charlie! Kill him off and have John Cryer be the star of the show inheriting everything! The show is funny because of the kid and the Quirky brother not Charlies drunken antics. The show can go on......

We like the show a lot but don't buy the idea that high paid actors (or sports guys or other celebs) don't have a responsibility to be decent citizens. Since in the final analysis we pay them - if indirectly through our patronage, they owe us civility. We vote to retire charlie and replace him with a previously unknown brother raised in England who actually owns Charlies house and takes it over with Charlies demise. The brother, an offspring with one of the past dads, raised in England can work with the existing writers work, have a similar scorn for "mom" and fill a similar role to the current character. This time it would be good to hire an actor that has to ACT the character rather than someone whose life is essentially the same as the character of the show. Go to work CBS and apply enough creativity to circumvent a single spoiled star. Don't bother with tarnish remover, go for a new guy. Good luck!

  • Kill Charlies Character in a drunk driving wreck3/4/2011

Every actor on that show is wonderful,, not JUST him,, I think they should kill him off the show in a drunk driving accident,, bring on another actor as a roomate, one of charlies girlfriends kids he didnt know he had or a long lost brother from the ex husbands that the mom never told them about! Sheen was NOT all of the show,, I would LOVE to see it go on and would still watch it every monday!

the media and these companies like warner bros and CBS work together to blame the actors for everything that goes wrong...

Just because the director has a tantrum because charlie is good at his job and the director just sits his bum in a chair yelling through the megaphone, does not give him the right to cause problems and try to get rid of those who are better and talanted like charlie sheen...

Look at why charlie sheen did what he did,,, dont just automatically blame the actor like all the other nubs... Use some REAL LOGIC people....duh...

Charlie sheen might have a few quirks about his life, but thats his life, if a co worker has a problem with charlie sheens life but charlie sheen has a good business life also, charlie sheen is not atu fault... The director or whoever else is the problem and needs to be replaced...

Also, you can tell charlie is not the problem because he offered to pay HIS MONEY to the others he acted with because the director or whoever pulled the plu

So Charlie is actually living up to the arrogant playboy alcoholic that he protrays that thinks no one can survive without him. it is time for the arrogant to be humbled. Send him to the brink and bring on a roommate. John stamos would be awesome!! Then maybe i would watch the show
