"Two and a Half Men" Star Charlie Sheen Comes Clean on Dan Patrick Show Monday

Todd Jacobs
Charlie Sheen appeared on the Dan Patrick Show Monday, Valentine's Day to discuss his pep talk, among other things with the UCLA Bruins baseball team. During the pep talk last week Sheen said, "Stay away from the crack and drink chocolate milk."

Sheen joked about the pep talk with the UCLA Bruins players and also revealed that he has been locked out of the set for "Two and a Half Men." Sheen told Patrick , ""We are on forced hiatus. They said, 'You get ready and we'll get ready.' And I got ready and went back and nobody's there," Sheen was animated and playful with Patrick as he went on. "I'm here and I'm ready. They're not. Bring it, you know?"

Patrick asked Sheen when are you supposed to start shooting again? Sheen responded with drawn out response, "August of 2014 I believe." The actual return date is set for February 28th.

Patrick played a Mitch Williams clip from earlier in the show discussing the evolution of the nickname "Wild Thing" from the movie Major League for Sheen. Williams who later was nicknamed "Wild Thing" after the movie hit theaters, discussed Sheen's pitching mechanics, giving him high marks. Sheen, an avid baseball memorabilia collector, sounded genuinely happy with the compliments given by Williams regarding his pitching prowess.

Sheen Told Dan Patrick He Was a "Huge Fan of DP Show"

Why would Charlie Sheen use the Dan Patrick Show as the venue to break his self imposed silence? Sheen is a sports and baseball fan and has always been a friend of the show. Paul Pabst, producer for The Dan Patrick Show sent a text to Charlie Sheen Friday February 11th to invite him to appear on the Dan Patrick Show. Moments later Sheen returned the text confirming he would do the show on Monday morning.

Patrick was having fun with Sheen's appearance at the UCLA Bruins batting practice and asked Pabst if they still had Sheen's cell phone number. Pabst sent the text and Sheen was happy to respond and appear on the show Monday morning.

At one point of the conversation Patrick, a co-star in the Adam Sandler movie "Just Go With It," invited Sheen to stay at his home and be a guest host with him on the show which is shot in Milford, Connecticut and telecast on DirecTV. Sheen loved the idea and sounded like he was ready to pack his bags and leave the California sun and hang out with Patrick.

Also during Sheen's interview in which Sheen admitted he was "all over the place," Sheen said he wanted Nick Swisher (New York Yankees player) to interview him on the New York Yankees bench. Dan Patrick assured Sheen he would set up the interview for Sheen.

Now the question in the wake of Sheen's interview on the Dan Patrick Show is if this is a setback for the remainder of the season for "Two and a Half Men" or a positive step to get the show back on track. During the break between segments Dan Patrick talked to Sheen on his cell phone and the conversation was on DirecTV 101. Patrick told Sheen, "Charlie I don't want you to get in trouble for this."
