Two of Kay County's Most Wanted, Child Rapist, and Person of Interest

Porter Sought for Questioning and Holmes Charged

Marie Lowe
Ponca City, Oklahoma police are searching for an accused child rapitist and a person of interest wanted for questioning in the shooting death of a 37-year-old man.

Jerry Don Holmes, 51, is charged in Kay County District Court with a felony count of first degree rape by instrumentation, forcible sodomy, three felony counts of lewd molestation and unlawful possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Police served warrants at a residence in the 2000 block of Cedar on June 4 and arrested Sondra Kaye Holmes, 49, on a felony count of unlawful possession of marijuana and Anthony Duane Holmes, 22, on an outstanding warrant.

According to the affidavit, police began an investigation in January after receiving a report of child abuse. Holmes was investigated and is now charged with the crimes of performing sex acts with two 10-year-old girls and a nine-year-old girl.

A search warrant was first conducted at the Holmes residence on Jan. 22. Police found evidence described by the children but did not arrest Jerry because of his health issues. Instead, an appointment was made for the couple at the police station for an interview and they did not show up.

Police served another search warrant in February in an effort to retrieve a gun and a tube of lotion only to learn the couple had disposed of the items.

The details of the court affidavit reveal that the mother of one of the victims had an affair with Holmes. She now blames herself for the situation her child finds herself in.

The other big crime story in Kay County is the murder of Kelvin D. Anderson.

Anderson was found shot to death in a front yard about 3 a.m. on June 4.

Police are searching for 31-year-old Terome Levi Porter for questioning.

Porter was charged with two felony counts of assault and battery with a deadly weapon and possession of a sawed off shotgun and or rifle in May of 2008.

He was arrested by Ponca City police May 2, 2008, in connection with a shooting that took place on May 1 in the parking lot of Starlight Lounge located at the intersection of Fourteenth Street and South Avenue in which an 11-year-old girl suffered a gunshot wound to the head.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges on May 28 and was scheduled for jury trial on Jan. 12, 2010.

But it never happened.

On that day Porter's attorney Carlile Hatfield was held in direct contempt of court.

Porter was ordered to hire new counsel and an attorney status review was set for Feb. 18.

On that day another court date was set for April 8.

Porter failed to appear on that day because of illness in the family and a plea docket was scheduled for April 15.

On that day the court set another plea docket for May 20.

That matter was continued until May 20 which was continued until this June 17.

Anyone who may know about the locations of either Holmes or Porter is asked to contact their local police or contact Ponca City police at 767-0370 or the Kay County Sherriff's Department at 580-362-2517.

Makes me sick to hear about people who abuse and use children. Those little girls lives have been forever destroyed and it will take them years to recover, if the ever to, from the evil perpetrated upon them.

Great information. Personally, I think that someone that victimized an innocent child like that should be put to death. I don't think you can rehabilitate them and they have damaged the child for life.
