Two Lovers Point at Tumon Bay, Guam

Most of you might not be aware of the largest and southernmost island of the Mariana archipelago called Guam. This island has been a US territory since 1898. One of the most popular and historical attractions of this island is Two Lover´s Point.

Two Lover´s Point is located at Tumon Bay, a favorite area for tourists and sightseers. To get there, tourists may ride the numerous bus services at major downtown malls like DFS Galleria and Micronesia Mall. One may also rent a vehicle at different car rental services scattered throughout the island.

Park admission fee is $3 per person, children 6 and under may enter for free. Hours of operation are from 8am-8pm.The main attraction of Two Lover's Point is a cliffline that has a two-tiered lookout point which offers a spectacular view of the Philippine Sea, Tumon Bay and the surrounding areas. Visitors can tread on the walkway that hang over the jagged rocks and look down at the 400 foot drop below.

The legend behind Two Lover´s Point will appeal to the history buff and the romantic at heart. According to ancient Chamorro legend, many years ago, a Chamorro couple who were deeply in love, were sadly forbidden to be together. Not wanting to be apart, they leapt together from the cliffside so they can be united in eternity. Hence the name Two Lover´s Point.

The park also has a small shop which offers souvenirs and refreshments. An art gallery is available for travelers to peruse as well as a picnic area for those who enjoy the outdoors. Two Lover´s Point is a favorite destination for class trips and wedding receptions. The backdrop of the cliffline, the vast ocean and the lush greenery offer a splendid respite for any weary traveler.
