The pet-friendly Brooklyn neighborhood of Prospect Lefferts Garden will finally be getting a pet supply shop this fall, but there's talk that a second shop may be opening, as well.

Boarding the east side of Prospect Park, the residents of Prospect Lefferts Garden, affectionately known as PLG, have plenty of beloved companion animals. Yet, there has not been a proper pet store in the neighborhood. This fall, however, Robert Salmieri and Richard Esposito, both PLG locals, are opening Trixie's at 575 Flatbush Ave. between Maple and Midwood streets.

According to Hawthorne Street, a PLG blog, another pet shop is scheduled to open in the area, as well. The blog reports that Bow Wow Pet Store and Spa plans to set up shop on Rogers Avenue, which has much less foot-traffic than Flatbush, but also less-pricey rents.
