Two of Portland Oregon's Best German Restaurants

Need a German Restaurant for Dinner in Portland, Oregon? Here are two of Portland's Best German Restaurants to visit. My family always considers one of these restaurants when looking for German dining.

Gustav's Pub & Grill - 12605 SE 97th Ave. Clackamas, Oregon 97015 (503) 653-1391
10350 SW Greenburg Rd. Portland, Oregon 97223

Gustav's Pub & Grill has some of the best German foods in all of the Portland area. Start the meal with their fabulous Cheese Fondue with 3 types of bread, German sausage, or during the month of October, try a German Pretzel for dipping. On the menu items such as Glazed Duck, Schnitzel, Gustav's Feast and Sausage Sampler, Rotisserie pork and chicken, and a combination of desserts to make guests mouth water. Bread pudding that your German Grandmother would have been proud to serve along with many hot dinner plates filled with main course meats and red cabbage on the side. Hours of operation are - Sunday - Thursday 11 am - 10pm; Friday & Saturday 11 am to 11 pm. If your party of guests is more than 2 I suggest calling for a reservation.

The Berlin Inn - 3131 SE 12th & Powell, Portland, Oregon 503-236-6761

The Berlin Inn is one of Portland's best German Restaurants with an attached Bakery and Wine Stube the Berlin Inn is a restaurant that serves authentic German Cuisine. Foods on the light side are Gouda & Garlic fondue or the Rauchbier & Sharp Cheddar with dipping patters of Cubed Bread & Apple, Berliner is with spicy Bier Sausage, the Bavarian Oktoberfest with cubed bread & apple, grilled and sliced spicy bier sausage and warm Bavarian Pretzel. One of Germany's best foods is the Potato Pancake. The Berlin Inn serves this Crispy Potato Pancake Platter with four pancakes served with grilled ginger pear & sour cream. Soups include Moseler Chunky tomato Sahne, Smoked salmon Chowder to mention a few. Sandwich's are Pulled Swabian Pork, Grilled Ham & Kraut with many more on the menu.

The Berlin Inn is the one place in Portland where guests can order real Hungarian Beef Goulash, Pear & Ginger Chicken Puff, and Koenigsberger Klopse. With this menu filled with true German cuisine the Berlin Inn is one of Portland's finest German restaurants.

The Berlin Inn is a very small restaurant so reservations are suggested. However a visit to the bakery and Wine Stube do not need reservations. Here you can purchase sandwiches and drinks to eat on the go or at the small tables in the Bakery area.

Hours of operation are Tuesday - Friday 5 - 6 pm, Saturdays & Sundays 10 am - 3 pm.
