Two of Portland's Best Romantic Places to Eat

CJMathis
Portland Oregon is home of some very elegant, romantic hideaway restaurants. Here are two of Portland's best places for couples to go for that romantic meal to set the mood.

Stone Cliff Inn - Not only a great place for the romantic getaway the Stone Cliff Inn offers unique private dinner parties, banquets, anniversaries, wedding receptions and much more. Located at 17900 S. Clackamas River Drive, Oregon City, Oregon the Stone Cliff Inn sits right on the side of the mountain overlooking the Clackamas River. A beautiful view year around for those who seek the quiet comfort of the wilderness that is close to home and the city.

Many of Stone Cliff Inn's menu items are prepared from scratch with fresh ingredients from the Pacific Northwest. Hours of operation are Monday - Thursday 11:30 am - 9:00 pm and Friday & Saturday 11:30 am - 10:00 pm. Sunday 10:00 am - 8:00 pm with a brunch served from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. Visit www.stonecliffinn.com for more information on changes in hours and menu items available.

Some great dishes served at the Stone Cliff Inn are Cherry Baby Back Ribs with French fries and spicy stone ground mustard coleslaw, Stone Cliff Salmon Oscar served with roasted garlic mashed potatoes and vegetables, Crab Penne infused with lobster cream sauce, Butternut Squash Ravioli in sage pasta, House Grilled halibut, blackened Halibut, Bourbon Sirloin and Espresso Dusted Rib eye Steak one of my favorites. Menu prices range from $15.95 to $30.00.

To make reservations you must call ahead at 503-631-7900. No reservations can be made by Internet.

Portland's next famous getaway is:

Tad's Chicken 'n Dumplins - This romantic getaway is right on the banks of the Sandy River in Troutdale, Oregon. Only a 20-minute drive from Portland Tad's sits in the Columbia River Gorge National scenic area of Oregon. Sitting on the Historic Columbia River Highway, Tad's is a great place to sit and eat a wonderful, romantic meal while viewing nature at it's finest in Oregon. Address is 1325 E. Historic Columbia River Highway, Troutdale, Oregon.

As you can guess Tad's is famous for their Chicken and Dumplings, served with green beans, bread, salad and a relish tray, however guests can order pesto chicken, boneless breast of chicken baked in olive oil with onions, peppers and seasoning and even chicken livers are on Tad's menu. Tad's also serves Salmon, Halibut, Scallops and Oysters for the seafood lover in your group, or Top Sirloin, New York Steak and Liver & Onions, prices range from $14.50 to $23.00. Tad's also has a children's menu for those families passing by or visiting for a great meal.

Both of these great restaurants are inviting for couples, groups and families, but if you want to pop the question or enjoy an anniversary with a loved one choose one of these wilderness settings to make it an evening to remember.

I have been to Stone Cliff many times. I attended a beautiful wedding reception there. It is a great place for any function, or just for 2.

I dare say, Tad's Chicken N Dumplings sounds like a strange romantic place. But they do serve liver and onions, so I'm there! :)

They sound nice. Oregon is one of the handful of states I have not been to yet, but I have seen lovely pictures and do plan going there in the next couple of years.

They sound great, too bad they are so far from me!
