Two Proposals!

Chaplain Walker
There was a story of a couple who had been dating for about 3 years. They met in college and everyone who met them thought they were the cutest couple. Valentine's Day came, and Christa had been hoping that Chris would pop the big question. They had talked about marriage. Chris told Christa to get dressed up that he was taking her somewhere special. Christa was excited, because they really hadn't gone on a date since Christmas, they both were trying to save money and not spend as much.

Christa was so excited she told some of her friends that she believe he would ask to marry her. He picked her up and took her to an unfamiliar place. He reached in his pocket and gave a small package, it was wrapped up in beautiful wrap. She was so excited as she tore off the paper, she saw the words Holy Bible. She looked at him in shock. And she looked out of the window and saw the sign St. Luke Episcopal Church.

Chris went to explain to her, "I have taking you on many dates and I know I haven't been spending a lot of time with you as usual. I have been attending church." She began to laugh and told him she thought he was going to propose to her. He said, "I want to share with you a proposal. It's one that does not require me to bend on one knee. It's an everlasting covenant. It's one that required a Blood Sacrifice for the Atonement of our sins. This Blood Proposal is given to all who will receive him. I know neither one of us grew up in church, but I have accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior, and I want to share with you more about him and his love." She said, "yes, she would love to here more about him." They went to Church and she gave her life to Jesus Christ.

They stayed after church and had lunch with the pastor at a restaurant. Chris bended on one knee at the restaurant, with a ring, and asked Christa to be his wife. Christa said, "yes". The pastor explained to Christa, that for 2 weeks, there had been a group of individuals praying for her that she would accept Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. Chris did not want to propose to her until she accepted the first proposal and that's eternal life with Jesus, (The Blood Proposal). No marriage can be successful without God being the foundation for your home. So, Christa got two proposals and she accepted them both.

Now will you accept him, too?
