The New York City Department of Education (DOE) released its 2010 progress reports for city schools last week and two Prospect Heights schools received a "D" grade. These reports measure School Environment, Student Performance and Student Progress.

P.S. 9 Teunis G. Bergen Elementary on Underhill Ave received a "D" in the Student Progress category. M.S. 340 North Star Academy on Sterling Place earned a "D" for Student Performance, but the school did get a "B" for Student Progress.

According to the DOE, schools that receive a D or F rating will be considered for intervention. You can find more information on the DOE's progress report methodology here.
