Kennywood Park
You can't come to Pittsburgh and not visit Kennywood. Founded in 1898 as a small trolley park, Kennywood rapidly became THE place to hang out, especially for teenagers and parents of small kids. Business and schools hold their picnics here all the time. Kennywood has worked hard to keep up with the ever-changing amusement industry. Some of the older tides date back to more than 70 years ago, and still are very popular today. Want to ride some of those old classics? Jump on the Thunderbolt, the Racer, the Jackrabbit, or the Kangaroo the Whip. Want to get wet? Try the old Logjammer for a race in a log, take the Pittsburgh Plunge to guarantee being soaked, or go for a wet ride through the Raging Rapids. Love roller coasters? Try the indoor Exterminator or the popular Phantom's Revenge. Get tired of riding? Check out some of the shows that run on the main stage throughout the day. When you're hungry, Kennywood offers a variety of food found throughout the park, with over 30 refreshment stands, snack carts, and an indoor restaurant, Parkside Cafe. You'll find something for everyones stomach here! Kennywood is also one of the very few places that allows you to still bring in your own picnic basket of food. Just remember, no alcohol! So grab the whole family, and head out to Kennywood for an enjoyable day. Visit www.kennywood.com for more details.
