Two Urban Licks in Atlanta: A Unique Dining Experience

A Restaurant Review

Two Urban Licks is a fantastic Atlanta restaurant, and I'll tell you what's so great about it....everything! When it comes to what I think of dining out, I'm not a snob. I don't think that the cost of food or the difficulty of getting a reservation has anything to do with what kind of an experience you have. So I've never been swayed by the popularity of a restaurant. Restaurants, just like everything else in the world, can become like high school popularity contests. Sometimes the most popular hot spots in dining are just passing trends. This is not the case with Two Urban Licks, in this case the popularity is well-deserved. Coming here will treat you to a well-rounded dining experience, where the fantastic cuisine is just one aspect of your evening out.

It all starts with the location of the restaurant. Like many other places in Atlanta, Two Urban Licks is housed in a renovated industrial building. This makes for high ceilings, unique textures, and a very incredible view of the Atlanta skyline. Also, the interior of the restaurant is very artistic. The mood is dark, but not brooding in the least. I went for a business dinner, and I also took note of the fact that there were families there and diners from all age groups, most dressed in casual or business casual. So don't worry about going all out. The lighting is subtle and beautiful; there is a large open kitchen, and an unconventional table set-up.

But let's be honest, we go to restaurants for the food. So let's talk cuisine. The food at Two Urban Licks is nothing short of the best. The meat prepared there is roasted over wood fires, which makes for a flavor that will surprise you. The tastes of all of the dishes at Two Urban Licks are complex. I also want to recommend that you do a full-course meal at Two Urban Licks. The reason for that is because at this restaurant, it's all about the flavors of the food. At many restaurants, it's all about huge portions. With Two Urban Licks, it's a chance for you to take the time to enjoy each bite instead of trying to stuff yourself.

The servers at Two Urban Licks are excellent. They're casual, comfortable, and you should listen to them because they'll listen to you. Many servers are trained to just push a daily special. The wait staff here wants to hear about what you like, what you don't, and what you're interested in trying. They also want to help you with things like food and wine pairings, which you should also take them up on.

This is a meal that you should save up for as well, because again, you should take the opportunity to do a full course meal, which includes drink pairings. The food is so eloquent, but also non-threatening, that each pairing sort of compliments whatever else you are trying. I had appetizers, salmon as a main course, and a red wine throughout, as well as sharing a chocolate dessert.

I left feeling less like I had just eaten dinner, and more like I had just been to a tourist attraction. By all means, I highly recommend that you visit, especially if you are looking for the ideal place for a romantic date in Atlanta, Georgia. From start to finish, all aspects of your visit to Two Urban Licks will be highly satisfying. It's an excellent choice for anyone who has ever wanted to have a special dinner out, but is majorly turned off by fancy or stuffy restaurants.http://twourbanlicks.com/sub-hours.htmThe all-around experience. The host staff can be cold and unconcerned. The well-rounded experience. The host staff wasn't very friendly.

I'm glad you wrote this. I'm looking for somewhere different to go for a special occasion. It doesn't have to be fancy, just have atmosphere and good food. I'll check this out. Thanks again.
