The first single off of No Introduction is Coconut Juice featuring Tyga's cousin Travis McCoy from the group Gym Class Heroes. The song is produced by S*A*M who produced Gym Class Heroes monster hit Cupid's Chokehold. However the song has a more reggae and hip hop influenced sound. The song is catchy and melodic and a surefire radio hit.
The second single is Teenage Crush. The song is a lot mellower than the first single. The song is the typical song for the female audience base. The song is fairly solid and features solid production along with strong lyrics from Tyga.
Cartoonz shows off Tyga's creative side. On the song, Tyga compares his life to a human cartoon. Tyga shows off the ability on the creative end that few rappers can deliver.
Don't Regret It Now features Patrick Stump from Fall Out Boy. The song is fairly catchy and interesting. The song features a nice beat and interesting subject matter.
Summertime is a solid track. The beat is well produced and the subject matter is light and well done. However, the singing in the chorus is just too off to be listenable.
Pillow Talk is different than any other track on the album. The song is more soulful than the song on the album. The song will definitely do for Tyga what Cupid's Chokehold did for Gym Class Heroes.
2 AM is definitely the most introspective track on the album and the perfect way to show Tyga off as a lyricist. The song sums up Tyga's upbringing and shows him off in almost an Eminem style.
EST. (80's Baby) shows off Tyga's flow and lyrical ability. It's hard to believe that Tyga is still in the same age range as rappers like Bow Wow.
No Introduction shows off how talented Tyga is as a lyricist. He clearly has a bright future in the music industry. However, the song selection and beats leave a lot to be desired. Overall, No Introduction gets 7 out of 10. If you are a fan of Tyga make sure you pick up No Introduction.

Post a CommentThinking that Tyga was robbed of 100,000 albums is merely psychotic. Really.
However, he was, I agree subjected to an unfortunate marketing ploy releasing his album the same day as Tha Carter 3.. Weezy coulda planned that a little better, I agree.
However, realistically, had Tyga released, i don't know, a month after Tha Carter 3, he should have been able to easily move 17,500-20,000 copies in the first week, and possibly a total of 30,000-40,000 to date.
Honestly, whoever decided about the singles releasing from his CD, should be shot down and killed.
Singles (more favorable relase order):
Coconut Juice (good choice, but when it flopped..)
Don't Regret It Now ( should have been mainstream almost immediately after)
Teenage Crush (for the ladies... easily 2,000+ albums sold if they hear this one..)
People just need to think..
I agree yo Tyga wud have got way more numbers if he didn't get robbed and if Wayne didn't drop his album the same day da Carter 3 came out. true story

Weezy should've sponsered him more and he would did better numbers. Not to take away from his realness, but he lost at least 100,000 sales due to the fact he got robbed
