Tylenol Arthritis Recall 2009 with Red EZ - Open Cap

Tylenol Arthritis Recall the Bottle with the EZ-Open Red Cap

Marie M. Daniels
First Children's Tylenol is recalled now Tylenol Arthritis is being recalled and Tylenol is getting a bad reputation. Both of the Tylenol recalls for Children's Tylenol and Tylenol Arthritis have been voluntary recalls by the parent company Johnson & Johnson. It was just last month that they recalled five lot numbers of the Tylenol Arthritis because of a musty smell.

Now they are recalling all of the Tylenol Arthritis bottles of the 100 count product with the EZ- Open red cap. The Tylenol Arthritis recall only includes the 100 count Tylenol Arthritis with the EZ-Open red cap. The other bottles of Tylenol Arthritis not in the 100 count are not included. If you have the 50 count bottles of Tylenol Arthritis they are not included in the recall. If you are concerned about your bottle of Tylenol Arthritis you can find the lot number on the side of the bottle label. To find all lot numbers included in the Tylenol Arthritis recall you can find them on the Tylenol website here: Tylenol Arthritis Pain Caplet 100 count lot numbers list.

To get a replacement or refund of the Tylenol Arthritis that has been recalled you can call the company. Customers can call Johnson & Johnson at: 1-888-222-6036 (M-F 8 to 8 ET & Sat-Sun 9am to 5pm ET). If you prefer to get your replacement or refund from your computer you can use their email contact form if you click here: Tylenol Email Contact Form.

This is a voluntary recall and the problem with the Tylenol Arthritis seems to be a moldy smell that is affecting the outside of the bottle. There have been reports of nausea, vomiting, stomach pain and diarrhea when using the Tylenol Arthritis pills that have been recalled. There have been no deaths because of the moldy smell from the Tylenol Arthritis recall. All side effects have been minor, non-serious and only temporary.

The cause of the voluntary recall seems to be because of a product that is used on the pallets that were used to transport the Tylenol Arthritis product. It would appear that the chemical used on the pallets has begun to break down and cause a moldy smell. It is unclear if the smell is causing the symptoms or if there is an allergic reaction happening. The chemical in question has not been studied in depth and it is not known what the full extent to health it may cause. So if you have a bottle of Tylenol Arthritis that is included in the recall you will want to get a refund or get it replaced.
