Types of Acne Scars and How to Get Rid of Them

Get Rid of Acne for Good!

Matt Catania
Many questions have been raised when trying to remove acne scars and the emotional effects that these problems cause. A person usually starts to get acne and pimples during puberty when the body is undergoing major changes, not just physically, but mentally. All the hormones in a teenagers body are out of place and jumping around, this causes the body to become extremely confused and when our oil glands are most active. I will talk more about the most commonly asked questions about how to get rid of acne scars.

Here are a few different types of acne scars and what you can do to treat each one:

Ice Pick Scars -

Ice pick scars are named as they are because they take the shape of a piece of wood being attacked by an ice pick. It usually consists of shallow or deep pitting with steep sides and jagged edges. The more severe cases of this type of scarring are often known as 'depressed fibrotic scarring'. These types are generally found on the cheeks of both males and females. Treatments such as lasers can work more effectively on the shallower cases of this acne.

Boxcar Scars -

Boxcar scars look quite similar to the dots you get from chicken pox, do not mistake them for chicken pox as they are usually just on the face. These are circle or oval shaped impressions left on the skin with crisp edges and usually vary in the depth they come in from shallow to quite deep and serious. This type of acne is most commonly found on the cheeks and the foreheads or temples of a male and female. Treatment would require you to visit a dermatologist or use natural acne products.

Rolling Scars -

Rolling scars are made due to the damage of tissue that is below the skin. They form the shape of a rolling hillside; thus the name 'Rolling Scars'. The tissue damage underneath the skin is the major problem in this case, solutions such as resurfacing treatments simply will not work. They are most commonly treated with subcision or by using natural acne treatments. This is the worst type of scaring and is most commonly found on the cheeks and forehead of both males and females.

This is a major issue that people simply do not have the money to solve, luckily some natural acne treatments do get rid of the more shallower scars. I suggest that you always drink water and keep your fluids up through out the day. A healthy balanced diet and water will let your body start the natural healing process whilst killing off anything that may be trying to stop it. Always seek medical advice if your unsure of anything that was mentioned above.
