People want to enjoy quality rest to eliminate back pain and rejuvenate them for the day ahead. Liz Ackerman is a sleep expert for Mattress Discounters in Reno Nevada. She says that there are several different types of mattresses to fit any preference or comfort level. Some people enjoy a firm mattress while others like to feel like they are wrapped in a cloud on an ultra soft mattress.

Memory Foam

Memory foam mattress made by Tempur-pedic and other companies are constructed entirely of memory foam. This foam is designed to mold to your shape and hold your body in a cushion of comfort. The material was first developed by NASA and it is now used to make beds and mattress toppers. These beds help to balance your body and reduce pressure points while you sleep. Liz says the quality of the foam is also essential because there are many knock offs in this business. Read reviews and be sure the mattress you select as a warranty.

Talalay

Talalay also called latex is made from rubber. The materials are taken from tree sap and the end result is a construction that is very similar to memory foam mattresses yet latex has a more bouncy feel to it. This construction is also much cooler to sleep on because sometimes the memory foam mattresses can trap heat. The mattress is encased with other standard materials like fabric and a soft pillow top, however many of these rubber mattresses are not made with coils. The entire inner core is filled with talalay rubber.

Open Coil

Liz says that open coil mattress the most common type of mattress construction. There are also varying quality of coils as they are not all created equal. These beds are so common that just about everyone has slept on an open an open coil mattress at one time in their life. The coils are constructed with helical wire that allows them to spring. High quality mattress have thicker coils that are more tightly packed together. Some very expensive mattresses are constructed with temper heated coils also called intelicoil which is a coil within a coil.
