Typos Typos Everywhere (A Poem)

Why Oh Why Can't I Type These Days!

Tony Payne
This poem was inspired by James Collum who happened to notice that the title of my recent article Purple Haiku For Yahoo is in fact Purple Kaiku For Yahoo.

Sometimes those dreaded typos just catch you out, especially after having published an article, and with ones that you just can't edit as well.

Typos typos everywhere
I rarely get a break
It really is unusual
For me to type without mistakes

Today I wrote a Haiku
It was a special task
It only had three little lines
I checked it really fast

But later on what do I find
A comment someone left
Your "Haiku is a Kaiku"
It left me quite depressed

While articles can be spell-checked
The Subject lines can not
I often go and type them wrong
Then get a nasty shock

So Keyboard Gods please work with me
And help me type things right
Because I don't want my readers
Thinking that I just type shite!

I swear that sometimes I may have
A dyslexic kind of bug
My typing just gets worse and worse
Maybe I need some drugs

But sober or drunk, awake or asleep
Fat fingering is the norm
Some days it really gets to me
And leaves me quite forlorn

I bet that you would not believe
How many times I had
To correct my spelling on this rhyme
It really was a drag

Well that my friends is my excuse
For my sad predicament
So if you spot a typo here
Please just leave me a comment

LoL...I have been there! I have been trying to triple check my titles lately, for the same reason. I thought you titled it "Kaiku" to be original hehe. :)

I just thought you had created a new type of poetry - the Kaiku! Cute poem, Tony. :)

I usually spell things right, but sometimes leave words out. When I read over it, I somehow "read" words that aren't there because I know what I want it to say. Typos annoy all of us, I think.

Typos are the bane of my existence.

I am the same way, it's a learning disability for me.
