Tyra Banks Brings Back America's Next Top Model with Cycle 15 on 9/8/2010~Episode 1
A New Season with High Fashion and Quirkier Models!
This season is sure to be more interesting because a few quirky girls were chosen to compete. I also like that Tyra Banks is consistent in proving that good models are not solely based on who is most beautiful. She is endlessly proving that a good model is not just beautiful, but someone with dimension, drive, ambition, and someone who loves, understands, and appreciates the fashion world. Someone who wants it bad, and is willing to do what it takes to get there. You have to want it.
Prizes for the Winner and Changes on the Show:
This season the winner of cycle 15 will be represented by IMG, win a $100,000 Cover Girl contract, a cover shoot in Italian Vogue, and two spreads in Vogue in Beauty. The winner will also have her career launched. Not a bad deal. At all. For many it is the opportunity of a lifetime, and a dream come true.
Jay Manuel and Miss Jay made it back as judges, and they seem to work very well under Tyra. I personally do not understand the mentality or credentials of Miss Jay, but always enjoy seeing Jay Manuel on the show. Manuel works well with most any model, and brings them out of their shell, as he has proven time and time again.
Fashion designer Cynthia Rowley joined ANTM tonight. She also invited a select few to her garden party. The models chosen to attend were matched up with their biggest competitor for a photo shoot, where they were taught how to stand out. It was make or break time, and some excelled, while others failed at impressing the judges, or themselves. Some of the super-pretty (but empty) girls were sent home. Vanessa thought with her Megan Fox looks that she would for sure make the cut, but she didn't. There is always one girl who thinks her pageant looks will win her everything, and often this show is their wake-up call and draw back to reality.
Cycle 15 Models Who Made the Cut:
After words, the cut was made and only 14 models advanced through for cycle 15. Esther, Jane, Kacey, Kayla, Kendal, Lexie, Liz, Rhianna, Sara, Terra, Anamarie, Ann, Chelsey, and Chris.
Interestingly enough Chris and Terra are not only sisters, who both made the cut, but are also deemed each others biggest competition. And they don't mind competing, although they really are rooting for each other as well. Sibling rivalry should make it that much more interesting to watch.
A few of the models are mothers, so I can see how they might try a bit harder to make their dreams a reality. When you need something, you want it more, and often try harder. So this season is already off to a great start!
Stay tuned for more information on the models from America's Next Top Model cycle 15! I will be researching each contestant to provide you with a more detailed biography of the contestants.
