Ubuntu Brings New Face to Linux

Welcome to Ubuntu

Ashby Koss
I'm tired. Tired of paying for software that must be updated to make it work properly. Tired of paying to upgrade my programs so that new files can be used. We all experience the loss of money and question are selves to why we are paying so much. Money is hard to get these days, jobs are far and few between.

Why in the world are we submitting to big companies to let them lead our digital lives and pay them for it? Well I have had enough, so I found the best thing for computer users and its completely free. Yes, free theres no hidden strings, no questionnaire to fill out, nothing. Just one simple download and some upgrades and you can become the brand new owner and user of Ubuntu.

UBUNTU a newer distribution of Linux, an older form of computer operating system. This distribution of Linux has done what no other distribution has been able to do. Ubuntu has single handedly brought Linux a few steps closer to mainstream computer users. Ubuntu is the closest thing to Windows that making the switch is now easier than ever. If your concerned about a full switch you can use the live CD that Ubuntu comes in and trial run Ubuntu out any installation. By having the operating system run off of the CD it gives new users the ability to trial run the operating system before an install. So what does Ubuntu have and what can it do? well lets take a look.

Lets start with the basics. How in the heck are you going to install a distribution of Linux if it is so hard to understand the terminology and working of Linux? Ubuntu takes this all into account and uses a full graphical installation. This simple fact alone makes it more user friendly than almost every other distribution of Linux. The other biggest ease of implementation in Ubuntu is how easily it gets all of you built in computer pieces working together, even wireless internet.

No longer do you have to scour the internet for Linux code to get the wireless internet working, it is all built in. Ubuntu not only finds, and works with all existing hardware but also fully recognizes USB plug and play items, printers, and accessories.

Now what about your IPOD and Itunes, since the apple software does not include any support for Linux how can I get my tunes? Well thanks to the great people who work on Ubuntu and the software for Ubuntu, you can now manage you IPOD in Ubuntu and even et access to Itunes using free Linux programs. For every program that costs money Ubuntu developers has created a way to get it for free in Linux. There is Open Office for a full replacement of Microsoft's Office XP products, which also saves and opens files in Microsoft's file format so cross system files are no longer a problem. Newer software is becoming available every week, all for free.

Tired of being scared about internet viruses? What if I told you that there is no known virus for Linux. Well guess what, I am. Since Linux comes in so many versions and each user forms Linux to how they want it, viruses are near impossible to create, or get one, unless you install it yourself. No more paying for internet security or virus protections. That is even more saved money.

Computers are no good with out games right? Well just as there are replacement programs for most costly programs, there are also free versions of almost every computer game available. Just find the type of game you like install, and play. If you're concerned about hard disk size and memory do not worry Linux runs on such a small percentage compared to the big companies operating systems. In my experience it even runs smoother, faster, and without any glitches. Something the big companies still cannot do.

If you are interested in Ubutu or any other type of Linux, a simple Google search and download and your ready to enjoy the free computer life. A life without someone forcing your hand to upgrade or pay to use your own computer. Do we not pay enough for the computer in the first place why pay more to use it? So now what to do with all this saved money.
