Ubuntu Review

Ubuntu is a great operating system in my opinion. Mostly because its an easy to use flavor of Linux. There are no VIRUSES for Ubuntu so you can just tunnel through potentially dangerous sites without too much worry. However there are ways that people can your Ubuntu operating system but you dont really have to worry about that too much unless you host a website with an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) port open. Ubuntu is an open source operating system (which is why I like it),It is a stable operating system for the average computer user but is also a fine choice for developers. In addition to stablility Ubuntu has a wide variety of additions to the operating system that make it stand out. Ubuntu can be used on almost anything including Desktops, PC's and Laptops. Ubuntu is also great with the programming environment and is remarkably easy to use. Ubuntu somewhat resembles Mac's desktop environment but with really amazing features One great feature is of course the Compiz desktop environment which has amazingly awesome effects. It outdoes Vista and Windows 7 by about 50000 miles. Ubuntu, although its amazing, is somewhat limited to how much software it has available for it. With a world that runs on the peice of crap operating system we call windows, Ubuntu is a lone fish a giant sea of applications for the Mac and Windows. Most applications written for Windows have not been added to Linux computers, so you might not be able to get your favorite programs running on Ubuntu such as the infamous Microsoft Office (which is probably the only thing that Microsoft made that was any good). However, you can install a program called Wine which some Mac users might be familiar with. Wine is a Windows emulator which is a very good program if you want to run some basic Windows programs. Ubuntu has its own versions of Windows programs and some are even better than the windows programs. So when it comes down to it all I totally suggest downloading the Ubuntu operating system now. Plus it's free so you dont have to worry about spending any money on this great operating system and if you don't want to totally get rid of you files you can Partition your hard drive with your other operating system(s)
