UFC 101 Anderson Silva VS Forrest Griffin Fight Aftermath

The Questions of Why and What Are Finally Answered

The Event
On August 8th at approximately 11:50 pm, in a sold out arena in Philadelphia after 5 long boring fights the fans of UFC gathered to witness what was suppose to be the greatest and most anticipated match of the year, where former light heavy weight Forest Griffin was going to take on Middle Weight Champion Anderson Silva. Unfortunately the fight went down for 3.25 seconds with Griffin hitting the bottom and turned out to be a complete disaster and humiliation of Forrest.

The fight started out by Forrest jabbing away, feeling out and measuring Silva, after which he threw a head kick way out of the reach. He kept jabbing with Silva trying to keep him out of the reach. Then Forrest threw a leg kick which he is most famous for(winning the title against Rampage Jackson), but he underestimated Silva who easily caught the kick and threw a slow right hand. If Forrest was a little closer the fight would have been done right there just like James Irvine's, but the fight went on. At 3 min 20 seconds Forrest throws another kick to the head which is blocked by Silva and tries a superman punch, At 3:10 Silva starts rushing and punching back and at 3:05 delivers a devastating right hook to the jaw of Forrest, drops him to the ground. Forrest quickly bounces back up but people can see that he is hurt since he looks up at the clock. Then Silva does something crazy. He loosens up lowers his hands and is toying with Forrest. He uses his quick reflexes and head movements to get out of the way and delivers an uppercut and a knee and then after blocking another kick and avoiding punches delivers another right this time overhead and knocks Griffin down second time, After that he punches him quickly why he is down and then out of great sportsmanship offers him a hand to get up. The fight continues. At that point Griffin can't fight the way he is used to. His vision is blurred, he starts swinging wild, and after swinging twice wildly at Silva, Anderson half-jabs him (like a paw slap tap) and that is enough to knock the lights out of Griffin. The reason for Griffin losing well there is three -fatique,pain,frastration. Fatique from adrenaline rush, pain from a dislocated jaw and frastration from mental breakdown and Silva's style of fighting. The final knockdown is clocked at 3:25 seconds.

Frequently Asked Questions and My Answers

Question: Forrest Griffin has the best heart in the MMA today, he could be bloody, with broken hand but he never gives up, why did he give up?
Answer: Being in MMA myself I know what it is fatique and I know what it is psychological (mental) preparation. Forrest does have the best heart but he was mentally broken down, and not fully prepared for the fight. Silva took away his main strengths and beat Forrest at his own game. Forrest deadliest weapon is his kicks and punches.
Silva blocked kicks and caught them. Second deadliest weapon is his punches. Here he was outmatched as well.

Silva is an unorthodox evasive counter puncher. He wanted Forrest to rush him to deliver counter blows.
Plus Silva wouldn't go down on the ground to fight, which should have been the plan for Forrest (sensei's. coaches mistake). After nothing that he tried worked, and he was losing by points, while suffering from slight dislocation of a jaw Forrest seen no sense in continuing this massacre and so he said enough.

Question: Why did he run out before waiting the final decision?
Answer: Just like any super hero Forrest doesn't like letting his fans down and so it was simply embarassing for him. He wanted to be alone and watch the fight and try to analyze of what he has done wrong, and how could this night be different etc, He didn't want to hear the boos, or yeling or cheering, he simply wanted to leave.

Question:Was this fight staged?
Answer: oooh Heeellllllzzzzz no. When the fight is staged they put on a great show. Both fighters excahnge some blows, it goes a lot longer then one round and there is never such a difference between the fighters just for the simple reason that no one wants someone to say that the fight was staged.

Question:Was Forrest hurt?
Answer: Yes but he wasnt hurt by the last punch it came from the first hook and the uppercut before the second knock down? He slightly dislocated his jaw and there are rumors that he can't hear out of his right ear.

Question: What's next for Silva?
Answer: Silva will go back down to middle weight to fight Dan Henderson in a rematch, even though he is not excited about it. Dana White feels like Dan Henderson deserves the 2nd chance after knocking out Mike Bisping.

Question:What's next for Forrest?
Answer:Train Train Train and come back and win fights. Forrest will not lose his fans because he is just a great guy and is very appealing to the women:)

Question:Will Silva ever fight Lyoto Machita?
Answer:Not in a million years! Not only they train together but also are best friends. Would any of you fight your best friend for real? That is what Silva said. And he also added: "I'm a very light LIGHT HEAVY WEIGHT and Lyotto is bigger and has the skillset to beat me."

Hope this answers some of your questions and as always post comments, agreement or disagreement and ask more questions if you want.

The content and spelling errors are two different things, so if you are going to say that it is an amateur article get that straight. I have a spell check but don't have time. Thanks Neerie!
