UFC 115 Results Liddell Vs. Franklin First Round KO for Franklin

The UFC 115 results for Liddell vs. Franklin have been finalized, and it was a sudden and brutal end to the highly anticipated main event. Rich Franklin bashed Chuck Liddell in the face with a huge right hand at the very end of the first round and Liddell crumbled to the canvas, out on his feet. The fight was stopped immediately. The Liddell vs. Franklin fight didn't last long, but it was exciting while it did. Franklin was staying on his toes and bouncing around, looking to catch Liddell as he came in. The cut began to bleed worse, but Liddell didn't seem bothered. He seemed to be in control as the first round ended, although he did seem to be a bit tired.

In the last seconds of the round Chuck rushed forward with Franklin against the fence but ended up off-balance after missing a few strikes. Franklin took advantage with a huge counter, showcasing perfect timing and precision. Franklin launched a quick, vicious right hand that had Liddell out before he could hit the ground.

What's even more amazing about the Liddell vs. Franklin results is that Franklin got the job done with a broken left arm. A kick from Chuck in the early going of the battle smashed his arm, and the bone could be clearly seen protruding. But Franklin ignored the issue and got the job done.

Prior to this fight Liddell hadn't fought for 14 months, the longest layoff of his career, and had worked hard to get his out of the ring lifestyle and his training on the right track. Those changes however didn't make a difference. Once a fighter has been knocked out, it's always easier to go the next time.

From the knockout loss to Rampage Jackson when he relinquished his light heavyweight title, to the knockout loss to Rashad Evans and now this KO loss to Franklin, it's more than clear that Liddell has reached the end of his rope. Franklin though is ready to take on the world despite some of the setbacks he suffered in recent years, and there is a slew of interesting battles ahead of him at both 205 lbs and 185 lbs.

The Liddell vs. Franklin fight at UFC 115 wasn't the only exciting fight of the evening.
