Referee Herb Dean called an end to the contest between the two at UFC 121 in the first round after a barrage of strikes.
The result came at 4:12 of the first round to win the title in a rollicking contest between the two.
Lesnar came out trying to bully him around to use his size but Velasquez managed to get up twice from takedowns as quickly as possible.
He out-boxed him and battered him on the ground and the UFC 121 Velasquez vs. Lesnar result ended up being a big surprise.
The league now has its first-ever Mexican heavyweight champion and the first-ever Mexican champion in combat sports according to the UFC as well including boxing.
Velasquez will now likely defend his title against Junior "Cigano" dos Santos in his next fight. No word yet on when that UFC fight will go down but it should be a great one.
UFC 121 saw a shocking Lesnar vs. Velasquez result at the end of one of the better MMA cards of the year and fans are sure to be buzzing about it all week long if not longer.

Post a CommentLesnar would have been better liked if he had shown a little bit of humility. Intead he acted the same as a schoolyard bully, thus making his loss a very happy occasion for many people.
