UFC 123 is in the books from Detroit and the winners have conducted their post-fight press conferences as the UFC 123 results hit the wire.

In early main card results, George Sotiropoulos took home a win by kimura over Joe Lauzon in a lightweight bout.

Following that, Phil Davis also won via kimura over Tim Boetsch.

Newcomer Maiquel Falcao beat TUF alum Gerald Harris by unanimous decision in the third fight.

In the co-main event, legendary lightweight BJ Penn moved up to take on Matt Hughes and won by TKO in 21 seconds.

Finally, in the UFC 123 results main event, Rampage Jackson won a split-decision over Lyoto Machida.

Following the event UFC President Dana White told the gathered media after the press conference that Penn would likely have a new opponent and a new fight on his hands overseas.

Penn is slotted to stay at welterweight where he will take on contender Jon Fitch in Australia. The Fitch vs. Jake Ellenberger fight is likely off according to White's comments although it is not 100% offical yet, but White did say that the Fitch/Penn fight is the next likely step.

The UFC 123 results were a bit surprising to some but all in all surprises were to be expected as they are in the nature of the modern mixed martial arts scene.
