UFC 129 Results: Favorite for KO of the Night?

Highlight Reel KO in Early Action

The UFC 129 results are not all official yet as there are still plenty of fights to go in Toronto, but we have an early favorite for KO of the Night after a big win early on.

John Makdessi, one of many Canadian fighters on the card, won over Kyle Watson in spectacular fashion on the prelims.

He managed to knock out Watson via spinning back-fist in the third round, something that hasn't been seen often if ever in the UFC.

UFC President Dana White said he had never seen such a finish on his own Twitter account and he may be right. While the UFC has seen a lot of fighters attempt and occasionally land spinning backfist punches, it's hard to remember a fight that ended in such a fashion as this early UFC 129 result shows us.

The UFC matchup of Georges St. Pierre vs. Jake Shields is the big one on the PPV portion of the card but some other results are already in as well.

The first fight ended up a win for Pablo Garza over another Canadian in Yves Jabouin. Jabouin, another home country fighter, looked to be doing okay early but he made a mistake as Garza pulled guard and locked up a triangle.

Most fans are still talking about the Makdessi KO heading into the televised portions of the card, however. Makdessi's winning UFC 129 result will be on the minds of many fans as we continue to talk about the best knockouts of 2011 in MMA.
