Tweet and Results Shed Light on Possible Super Fight

Georges St-Pierre, aka GSP, will remain the Welterweight Champion of the UFC after winning over Jake Shields by unanimous decision in Toronto.

The fight was fairly uneventful although GSP and Shields did put on some solid displays of boxing, especially Mr. St-Pierre.

But now the real drama begins as the UFC's next challenger for St-Pierre is about to be deliberated by the company's brass. Lorenzo Feritta, the well known Zuffa CEO , posted an interesting Tweet after the fight.

It seemed as if Mr. Feritta was opening things up to the fans after the win by GSP for them to weigh in on his next opponent. Since the Shields fight was a bit of a letdown, albeit on a night with tons of other great fights, it seems as if Feritta wants to make sure the next one is much better.

Ferittita made a tweet asking if Nick Diaz, the Strikeforce champ, or Anderson Silva, the current UFC middleweight champ, should be the next to take on GSP. The UFC 129 results didn't surprise anyone and now GSP is looking for an even bigger challenge in his next fight and the fans want to see the same.

Feritta is not the UFC's matchmaker, but he does have a lot of influence within the company, obviously.

The UFC has also shown itself to be very fan friendly, to listen to the opinions of everyone and to try "put on the fights people want to see" as President Dana White has often said.

Will the UFC listen to the fans when it comes to GSP's next fight? Silva is scheduled to fight Yushin Okami next in a title fight.

But fans want to see a true superfight and GSP vs. Anderson Silva could be the one they've been waiting to see forever.

GSP vs. Silva would possibly take place at a catchweight but it's hard to say. The ball may be in GSP's court on this one as to whether or not he wants to wait and move up in the weight classes.

For now, however, GSP will enjoy his win after the UFC 129 victory over Jake Shields allowing him to keep his title yet again.
