UFC 134 Silva Vs. Okami Odds Pick

Fight Pick for the Main Event

The UFC 134 fight card is impressive, but it seems as if the main event of Anderson Silva, the odds favorite, and Yushin Okami for the middleweight title has been overlooked a bit.

Silva is the surefire Hall of Famer while Okami is one of the more underrated fighters in the UFC. Of course, Okami is not a finisher like Silva is, however, and that makes all the difference.

Okami is much more of a steady fighter compared with the improvisational master in Silva, who is one of the all-time greats as a striker and as an MMA fighter in general.

Silva lost to Okami once, technically that is, earlier in his career, but it was an illegal kick that caused the DQ in that fight.

Okami will be pumped up for the biggest fight of his career in this one, but it seems as if the odds pick for most people, the favorite Silva, is not very enthused about this fight. He doesn't feel as if Okami is on his level, or at least didn't seem to be initially.

Now that fight time is almost here, however, Silva is no doubt preparing like the champion he is and always has been. Silva will have to make sure he is in tip-top shape for a potential five-round fight in this one because Okami fights conservatively and has the cardio to outlast him.

Okami is also physically imposing so don't be surprised if he tries to turn this one into a backroom brawl. His wrestling is also very good for the division.

Silva, however, has fought opponents who are much better wrestlers and even a fair amount of better strikers than Okami. As long as Silva is prepared for this one and in good shape, he should have far too much in his repertoire for Okami to handle in Rio.
