UFC 139: Shogun vs. Henderson is an upcoming mixed martial arts event to be held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on November 19, 2011 at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California. The event will be the first that the UFC has hosted in San Jose. The fights will begin live on Facebook, the Preliminaries will be seen on Spike TV at 8 PM and the Main Card will be see in San Jose live and on Pay Per View beginning approximately at 9 PM. You can check out the live results here beginning before 8 PM tonight. This is the UFC's Thanksgiving present to you. The card and the results are below:

MAIN CARD

  • Mauricio "Shogun" Rua vs. Dan Henderson-Henderson hurts Shogun first with a right hand, Shogun is bleeding all over the place, Henderson controls the first moments of round one, Shogun lands a good punch and Henderson falls to the mat, he recovers and should win round one
  • Henderson pounds on Shogun in round two. The two fighters are throwing leather, But Henderson is getting the better of it. Mauricio Rua is having a tough time with his breathing because he is all bloodied up, he shows the signs of all of the punches Henderson has landed. Henderson lands a good uppercut near the end of the round, round two goes to Henderson
  • A lot of pounding going on in round three, both men are giving it and taking it, Henderson still looks like he is getting the best of Shogun, but this is a war, Dana White even said this on Twitter. I give round three to Henderson again, but this fight is incredible. What a fight! What a war!
  • Henderson is now tired and Rua seems to be taking over the fight. Rua takes Henderson down which is a chore in itself, he gets the better puncher for the first round of the fight. Henderson looks tired and this could be bad for him with one round back. Rua wins this round and makes the fight a little bit closer
  • Shogun Rua controls round five, Henderson is exhausted, but he makes it through the round. Henderson wins the fight unanimously 48-47 over Shogun Rua, one more round and Henderson would have lost. This was a war until Henderson ran out of energy. Good fight for both fighters and looks to bring about a rematch.

  • Wanderlei Silva vs. Cung Le-Let the fireworks begin, I predict a KO for somebody-Cung Le is cut around the eye, he lands kicks in round one, but Wanderlei Silva lands some very good punches, this round could go either way-Cung Le is pounding on Wanderlei Silva in round two, he knocks Silva down and Silva jumps up with a welt on his face. Cung Le is doing well until he runs into a right hand from Silva, bam the fight changes in Silva's favor. Silva hits Le with an Uppercut and hurts him, follows it with a head kick and right hand, Le is on the ground and Wanderlei Silva finishes him, TKO win for Wanderlei Silva, Le's nose is absolutely destroyed after this fight-What a welcome to the UFC

  • Urijah Faber vs. Brian Bowles-Urijah Faber controls Brian Bowles in round one, slams him to the mat and wins the first round, Faber gets in the better shots-Faber hits Bowles with a good uppercut and wins via a submission guillotine choke over Brian Bowles. Great victory for Urijah Faber
  • Martin Kampmann vs. Rick Story-I expect Rick Story to win this one, but we will see soon- I was wrong-Story wins round one by throwing two punches for every one Kampmann throws, Story looks like he wants the KO badly-Kampman controls round two, gets in the better shots and wins it, Story looks he faded some since round one. There was a ton of action in the third round, both fighters did good work, Kampman wins via split-decision- I hate when this happens-Two big losses in a row for Story

  • Stephan Bonnar (winner) vs. Kyle Kingsbury-Bonner controls round one and wins it 10-9, Kingsbury has a bloody nose- Bonner Takes Kingsbury down and controls him in round two, winning the round-Bonnar comes out fresh for the third round, wins the round and wins the unanimous decision, why did one judge give it to him 30-25?

PRELIMINARY CARD (Spike TV) Brought to you by Buffalo Wild Wings

  • Ryan Bader vs. Jason Brilz-Ryan Ryan Bader KO's Jason Brilz early in the first round with a right hand behind the ear. Bader finally gets in the win column in 2011- 1:17 of the first round

  • Michael McDonald vs. Alex Soto-Michael McDonald KO's Alex Soto early in the first round. He pounds through Soto as Soto chases after McDonald. What a KO for Soto, he is 3-0 in the UFC at twenty-years old, almost twenty-one

PRELIMINARY CARD (Facebook)

  • Chris Weidman vs. Tom Lawlor-Chris Weidman chokes out Tom Lawlor in the first round to win their match. This was a good choke and the ref had to jump in to save Lawlor-Replayed on Spike TV because of extra time
  • Rafael dos Anjos vs. Gleison Tibau-close fight after two rounds-Gleison Tibau wins by split-decision in a hard fought fight
  • Miguel Torres vs. Nick Pace-Miguel Torres wins a 30-27 unanimous decision over Nick Pace
  • Matt Brown vs. Seth Baczynski-Seth Baczynski gets the win in the second round with a choke of Matt Brown. Matt Brown was frustrated, but there was nothing he could do, the choke was too tight-They replayed this fight on Spike TV because of the quick KO by Michael McDonald
  • Danny Castillo vs. Shamar Bailey-Danny Castillo beats Shamar Bailey in the first round with a TKO. There was only eight seconds left in the round, when the ref decides to stop the fight-Replayed on Spike TV due to the Ryan Bader KO

I will begin watching the prelims on Facebook because there are going to be good fights on Facebook. Miguel Torres will be fighting, Rafael dos Anjos will be fighting, Tom Lawlor will be fighting the undefeated Chris Weidman and Mike Brown will be giving it another shot. Don't miss these fights because UFC 139 looks to be a very good card. Give yourself an early Thanksgiving present and watch these fights. Come back tonight and check out the results. Winners in the main event: Stephan Bonnar, Martin Kampmann, Urijah Faber, Wanderlei Silva and Dan Henderson. UFC was a ton of fun, hope you enjoyed it and Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

Outstanding report, although I'm not much of a boxing or UFC fan. Thanks!

It's not exactly fun, it's competition and they get paid for fighting, this is their way of life.

I cannot understand why men beating the living daylights out of each other was considered fun...

I never got into the UFC - my dad was a boxer and I grew up watching the traditional boxing matches :) cheers
