UFC 30 Memorial Day Weekend Fight Cards

UFC 30 preview for the Memorial Day Weekend still looks promising to be a big for UFC fights, despite the injuries that ultimately led to the headliner fight of Edgar -Maynard III being pulled. Still, there is a lot going on in the UFC and it is sure to be entertaining for fight fans even with the UFC 30 headliner now changed. This leaves fans with a movie star and former title holder Rampage Jackson trying to sell the show for this Memorial Day weekend,

Rampage Jackson (31-8, 6-2 UFC) vs. Matt Hamill (10-2, 9-2 UFC)
Rampage last fight was in November, which is not long ago in this sport. Hamill's last fight was won by decision over Tito Ortiz in October. Hamill's a raw fighter who can take a beating. What about beating Rampage? The better bet is that Rampage will knock out Hamill.

Frank Mir (14-5, 12-5 UFC) vs. Roy Nelson (15-5, 2-1 UFC)
These two are good friends and in business together. They have a lot to put aside before going at each other. This is a good example for the fighters that won't fight their teammates, professionals can put feelings aside for the love of the sport. Nelson looked like the most durable fighter in the UFC until he took a 15-minute beating from Junior dos Santos. Not many fighters can withstand that brutality. This fight is too close to predict, but Nelson most likely will be the one who comes out of this with a win.

Travis Browne (10-0-1, 1-0-1 UFC) vs. Stefan Struve (21-4, 5-2 UFC)
Stefan Struve is one tall and awesome fighter. He has only two losses, a quick first round KO's at the hands of Roy Nelson and Juior dos Santos. Struve's wins are two subs, 1 decision and two straight KO wins coming into this fight. Browne just about won his last fight, he was that close to losing it.. This fight will be act as a good test for Browne with Struve, who is right up there, but has not quite reached top level yet.

Jorge Santiago (23-8, 1-2 UFC) vs. Brian Stann (10-3, 4-2 UFC)
A former Marine is featured for Memorial Day Weekend. and an undefeated one at that, since moving to middleweight. Brian Stann's surprising TKO victory over Chris Leben on New Year's was memorable for sure. Santiago lost to Leben and Alan Belcher. when he spent a few months in the UFC back in 2006. Since then he's gone 11-1 and become the Sengoku middleweight champion.

Thiago Alves (18-7, 10-4 UFC) vs. Rick Story (12-3, 5-1 UFC)
This fight has been bumped up to the main card with Edgar and Maynard going down. It was originally set for the preliminary card. This fight even found its way into the promotional materials. This will be the toughest fight of Rick Story's career. Alves hasn't finished anyone since Matt Hughes in 2008, so Story's may have a chance at a win here.
