The universe is vast and compelling to say the very least, comprising of an overture of stars bursting into life, and exploding to their death. Galaxies sprawl into the endless blackness of space like grains of sand on a beach.
In the magnitude of the blackness of space, one question has intrigued scientist and ordinary every day people alike:
"Are we the only life in the Universe?"
Stories and sightings of 'Extra Terrestrials' (ET) and Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) have numbered into the millions over the centuries, from ancient Egypt and Biblical passages attributed by believers as visitations from another planet. To more modern encounters that even skeptics find hard to explain.
One thing is for certain, something is going on but what is it?
In this series I am singling out some fascinating UFO sightings from the past to present day. There have been thousands of such sightings and encounters, some proved to be hoax and others not so easy to palm off as garbage.
The following UFO encounters are true accounts from actual people, you decide if they hold substance. My voice may be slightly biased as a believer, beliefs I firmly hold tight.
On 29th of March 2008 in Anchorage, Alaska, a father was woke up at 11a.m. by his excited and agitated son, who was shouting "Dad, dad; there's a UFO!"
The boy's father jumped out of bed thinking that his son's imagination was getting the better of him. He went to his son's bedroom window and was shocked to see a red object in the daytime sky almost rusty in color and oval in shape.
The object apparently made no noise at all, and had no lights on its exterior. The strange looking craft stayed hovering at about 600 to 700 feet up in the sky for around 45 minutes, going back and forth before finally ascending through the clouds.
Alaska has seen over 200 reports posted to UFO reporting website nuforc.org since 1998. None more compelling than the story reported by Mr. Holger Berg which dated back to 15th of October 1936. A story that took over 80 years to be finally published in print, and graciously posted to the nuforc website after being typed out by Mr. Berg before his death in 2001.
One dark night as the stars flickered in the sky Mr. Berg and a man named as Peterson were taking a walk away from the camp they where staying at in Eklutna, Alaska. When the noticed what is described as the sound of a jet turbine being down. They noticed a bluish colored light and for a fleeting moment they thought it was a truck with one headlight out.
They were startled to discover that the light was not on the ground at all, but was in the air traveling very slowly at about 35 to 40 mph.
The object passed over them which to their surprise was shaped like a cigar. As the light faded the men could see the shape of the craft was wider than at first glance. The object then headed east and disappeared from view over a mountain.
For Mr. Berg to have kept his secret so long, adds a lot of weight to his report. Why would someone make such a statement at the end of their life with nothing to gain from it?
These are just two stories one old and one modern, both with an extra witness both with individuality. There may not be photographs to accompany the reports, but compelling nevertheless.
