Arkansas is a state with some magnificent national parks and scenery, with lush forests that span as far as the eye can see.
Not surprising that the state attract visitors from far and wide.
Are there even visitors from outer space?
It seems Arkansas is not left out by our illustrious strangers from another galaxy. There are many remote areas someone could visit and nobody would ever know they were there.
Some keen eyed observers may accidentally find themselves staring at various light shows and displays of speed and agility from apparent intergalactic visitors.
The 'National UFO Reporting Center' (NUFORC) has many documented cases from the early 1960's up to present day. Of course there are the suspected hoaxers, but some stories stick out. I like to look more closely at some events that for whatever reason people wait a period of time to report the case. Maybe it is because they have had to think about all the rational facts or because they felt a bit silly at the time talking about their sighting.
One such story was reported a couple of days after the event, suggesting the person had been looking for a credible outlet for their report.
In the skies over Texarkarna, Arkansas, on August the 6th 2007 a person was sat outside their house at 10:20 pm smoking a cigarette looking in the direction of the local airport. The person observed a number of strange light emitting from a cigar shaped craft.
One could speculate that what this person was seeing were aircraft landing at the airport. But to see more than 15 of these lights together on similar craft would be unusual near an airport.
These craft seemed to possess amazing agility even though they seemed to be traveling at a slow speed. The craft moved about seemingly in a square shaped maneuver, also joined by other strange looking craft.
This person ran inside the house to tell their mother who came outside and also saw the objects. But ran inside as she was afraid of what she had seen.
The lights continued for some 30 minutes, until the person stopped watching them through fear.
What makes this report interesting is the fact that a similar report was filed by an entirely different person from the same area but in a different location.
This time the person was with a friend sat outside when they observed lights in the distance. They had noticed conventional aircraft in the sky and could distinguish between the airplanes and the object easily.
These two people are and agricultural pilot who would know conventional craft when he saw them. Also a nurse, this helps her with her dexterity as a UFO witness reporter. Nurses are generally a trustable source.
It seems that these two people where witnessing the same lights as the report from the same evening. Although they only saw four lights it may have been because the viewpoint was slightly different.
But the event happened at around the same time as the previous report at between 10:30pm and 11pm.
As the last report had mentioned the object moving erratically so does this correspondent. Describing 4 lights moving around other lights "haphazardly" others seemed to be star like looking lights which the object was centered around.
This report can be seen on the NUFORC website here and the previous report here.
NUFORC do actually contact people who report events that happen on their website. It helps establish credibility. Some people will like to remain anonymous and others like to be more public and open about what they have seen.
Maybe remaining anonymous for some people is necessary due to a specific job or interest. As some skeptics will ridicule people who claim to have seen a UFO.
