The Sightings
The town of Stephenville, Texas has been buzzing with reporters due to the many accounts of UFO (Unidentified Flying Object) sightings. The number of those who witnessed this phenomenon range from a dozen to several dozen people who claimed to see the bright red lights that apparently changed color and took off at a remarkable speed. Witnesses claim that whatever was producing these bright red lights was followed by fighter jets, but was evidently faster than its pursuers. The UK-based magazine, The Telegraph, claims, "Looking through the telescopic sights of his rifle, Ricky Sorrells, a machinist, said he saw a flat and seamless metallic object hovering about 300 feet over a field". According to WSAZ.com article, Dozens See UFO in Texas, the witnesses of this incredible incident included, "a pilot, a teacher and business owners". The article goes on to claim, "The U.S. Air Force said it had no planes in the area that night". As with any paranormal phenomenon, sceptics have emerged. Joint Reserve Base officials stationed in Fort Worth speculate that perhaps this sighting was simply an "optical illusion", but many people are convinced that this was a genuine UFO sighting.

I've never before submitted this information, but my friend Jo Ann Dach (later Levine) and myself saw UFO's one night in the sky over Fort Hood Texas during the Fall season of 1973. We were on a date, had finished dinner, taken a drive in my car, and were parked in the woods somewhere west of Fort Hood property.
My car was parked facing north-east and Jo Ann was the first to notice the lights through the windsheild, pointing them out to me. It wasn't what the bright white light looked like that was so unusual, it's what it was doing and we decided that it wasn't an airplane or helicopter. Once the light had appeared up in the sky in front of us it was constant and looked to be at a range somewhere between several thousand feet and a few miles, it would then slowly move at a diagonal trajectory and slowly fade out. Another light would then instantly appear somewhere else in the sky and move at a different diagonal trajectory, slowly fading out, and instantly appear at ye
Great Article! I've watched X-Files so much that sometimes I feel like I've been abducted in my sleep!
my theory ufo sightings they may originate from the pleiades star system 450 light years from earth.
I saw a flying saucer in daylight on a hwy near White Sands Missile Range, Nm, it moved across 35° arc of sky before coming to an instant stop directly over us, it then dropped straight down so fast, that my Mother who was observing the event with myself and my brothers, "I'm a trained pilot" passed out. The disc came to a stop about 50 feet directly over us. It hovered there motionless for around a minute. It looked EXACTLY like the Bob Lazar 'Sport Model' flying saucer which Revel mfr'd as a model kit for a time, part of the reason I believe his story about Area 51. The bottom of the disc was highly reflective like a mirror, I could see my glasses on my face looking up at it, my Mother awakening out of her 'trained pilot stupor' (heh heh) and our German sheperd police dog looking up watching it, off the bottom reflection of the disc. Believe, don't believe, don't care.

Correction: That was in December of 2003 we saw the object as deer hunting is illegal in Texas in September. We still know the difference between a green cloud of bean eating deer hunters and a U.F.O.
Doesn't the United States government know that all Americans are not as dumb as they act like we are.For crying out loud, people spot these objects and according to our Air-Force they haven't seen anything other than the reflection from an airplane or didn't see anything at all.Give us a break. In September 2003 while on a deer hunting trip in Dryden,Texas five of us hunters were sitting around under the night Texas skies ( having a beer of course) when a hugh object flew across the skies from south to north about a thousand feet or more above us with a few lights shining on it.It really looked about the size of a football field and took about a minute or two to disappear over the horizon. We didn't report it to anyone as what the hell,we had drinked a beer.We flashed a couple of pictures (with a small camera)but nothing showed up on the film when developed. We don't have any idea what it was or where it came from but I'm now 66 years old and know an airplane or blimp or even the green clo
